I am from the October group. I have a closely similar situation. I have been waiting for 5 weeks now !

Officer told me I am approving your application, then e can is still In Process. (My wife who took the test with me on the same day had DM next morning).

I thought, at the time, citizenship test was last step. One member in that group told me that citizenship test triggers the first (of three) security checks steps.

I believe that someone like myself (a male from a country that is considered a high risk country security-wise) applies then they might take longer time to check. I have also lived in three different continents in the past 12 years. So I don't consider my case the most typical.

I even read somewhere it's not them (CIC a.k.a IRCC) checking now. Other government agencies (e.g.: CSIS) are involved here.

This is a thread that might help

http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/cic-security-screening-csis-t349931.0.html

Thank You So much for the detailed answer. It always help to find out that its a common practice from CIC.
Hopefully you will get an answer soon! Keep us posted

Hello Everyone,

We (My wife and I) sat for the Citizenship Test on Jan 17. The test went well ( both of us scored 20) and the citizenship officer asked some usual questions (about work etc) and said she approved our application. Since my daughter is a minor she did not have to take the test and we notified this to the citizenship officer as well. I recall she had us sign a declaration for this too. Now, since Jan 17 both our ( me and my wife) applications are showing decision made status which is understandable since they had mentioned it would take 2-4 months to get the oath date. What I am worried about is that my daughter's application is still showing 'in progress'. Can anyone help out with the possible reason for this? Thanks a lot.

I don't think that is an issue. This happened to me too. Now all three of us (me, my wife and my daughter - 10yrs old) have the oath invitation letters. Still the ECAS status for me and my wife show - "Decision Made", my daughter still shows - "In process".

Just to further update on my case.

- I ordered my US entry/exits record to get missing passport entries through FOIA. I received report in 3 weeks with required details. I ordered this report for safer side only.
- My ecas still showing in progress and still waiting for further communication from CIC.
