we submitted our sponsorship application on
23rd November 2015 and got AOR on
20/01/2016 till date no update and it makes
me so worry since then though am the
principal applicant i had called many times nd
also my spouse the sponsor as well . They can
only say we should hold on or wait till they
complete there background check nd
elegibility of my wife... this making me so
worry now
though my wife nd myself are divorcee nd all
well documented but she had sponsored her ex
back then 1995 nd before the application
finalised she called cic thats she withdrew her
sponsorship but it seem too late bcos she
realised her ex was going to use her for
status. please fellow forumers what do you
think this might result to?
thank you
Samola - this is one of those time where getting a professional's opinion will really help you. Most, if not all of us, are merely trying to work through the immigration process as applicants together. There's a lot of support offered while we all wait, and it's through the advancement of others through the process that we learn.
The biggest thing I've learned here is to be patient. There doesn't appear to be anything that you can do to expedite the process - calling can obtain some peace of mind when you discover that you ARE in fact in process. But mostly, be patient, check ECAS, watch the spreadsheet, read the forums.
I would like to try to clarify some points in your question.
You refer to your wife twice in two contexts. Am I understanding correctly that your sponsor your current wife? And you have well documented proof that you have divorced your previous wife?
Also: your current wife sponsored her ex partner in 1995, which she tried to withdraw?
First - trust a bit in the process. I believe that right now you are in Sponsor Approval phase. CIC Missisauga is evaluating your sponsor's eligibility to be a sponsor. Be patient.
Second - I'm not sure if your spouse is eligible. Being a sponsor 20 years ago does not prevent you from being a sponsor now, unless deemed ineligible at that time. Your best guidance here will be the CIC's "Determine your eligibility" (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/sponsor/spouse-apply-who.asp) page.
