A very good article on "The Star" highlighting drop in ctizenship rates. I cannot agree more on this , as we go through this process.
Iam in support for thorough check and fair process, however qualified applicants should not have to be put in a longer queue.

hello jenny92

could you kindly tell us what was your interview process (not the test)? what questions did they ask, what documents did they look at, did they check your online residency calculator in detail?

Thanks.

Hi Guys,
I like to update my case.
I had test at Scarborough office today. I took about 10 min to complete test and I left the testing room.
The test result seems to be evaluated immediately because my name was called for interview just 10/15 min later.
Interview was very smooth and I was informed to get ceremony invitation in 4-8 weeks. more like sometimes in June.
It is such as short journey than I expected at the beginning of applying my application.
I hope all of you will have good result and news soon.

Cheers!

AOR Received: 1/24/15
Application in process: 2/10/15

Test Invite: ?
Test: ?
Oath: ?

Test was today!

It's pretty easy if you read the Discover Canada book and take online tests and stuff - had no issues and passed with 20/20.

Interview went fine, but because if my (and I quote) "many many absences" I had to stick around for another interview where they photocopies all my passport pages and got my CBSA report to double check. I stated they shouldn't be any surprises and if there were it was an honest mistake. He said this is also being done because I applied for citizenship the first day I was eligible - he was really nice about it and it wasn't bad - worse comes to worse I fill out another form and the oath is delayed. I've lived here for 14 years. I beyond meet this residency requirement, I think.

Oath letter 2-4 months. Or maybe for me six, haha.

Congrats for everyone wrote the test. Hopefully everyone will get to the end of the tunnel shortly. Today, I called CIC to check if they received my RQ response and to inquire about my application. The agent was very nice ( unusual ). she informed me that the system doesn't show any update so far. Of course I failed to understand the reason of issuing me the RQ and my concern of unfair long time processing that we usually hear about. She confirmed to me that if the applicant submits all required documents within a time frame and have a good evidence of residence requirements, the case won't be delayed and will be processed in a timely manner. She stated that the delay usually happens when the applicant doesn't provided enough documentation or doesn't respond to letters within timeframe. Honestly, her response gave me a hope. I just want to share this with you and give honest applicants a hope...

Thanks for sharing the update. We share similar timelines and both our situations are not that different.
I hope the processing is not delayed unfairly if the documentation is comprehensive for CIC to make decision.

Honestly, I hope the same too. My RQ response has been in process for quite a while now and there is no movement. I called CIC on Thursday and the nice agent told me that my RQ responses are still being reviewed and the background checks are still in progress. As per the ATIP that I had requested 2 months back, all background checks seemed to have completed, so I am not sure which ones are still being done. As of now, I can't do much but keep on waiting. 4.5 months since RQ, 3 months since RQ responses received, 2 months since RQ responses forwarded to Scarborough. I don't think I am going to hear anything until a year.

Hi garian4u,
When was your RQ response forwarded to Scarborough from your local office (Mississauga)?
Did you see this update in e-CAS or ATIP?

It was forwarded on 21st Jan. There is absolutely no update in E-CAS. It is stuck at In process since 14 Nov. I came to know by calling CIC call center.

Hi garian4u, i think we are in similar situation. Got RQ from local office (Mississauga). MY RQ response has been received by CIC on 26th March.

Based on your experience it looks like my RQ response may be forwarded to Scarborough?

BTW - Did you get CIT 171 or shortened RQ?

CIT 171. I don't understand the trend though. Sydney issues the RQ, but asks to send to Mississauga. Mississauga receives it on 31st Dec but waits till 21st Jan and then forwards to Scarborough. Why did they waste so much time? Why couldn't they have directly told me to send my RQ response to Scarborough? I believe another person on another thread (LondonOntario) is in a similar situation.

I have heard that RQ response (CIT 171) is generally forwarded to St.Clair for GTA Applicants, however in your case it looks like Scarborough which might process it. I hope it's fast.

Seniors - Does Scarborough Process the RQ response (CIT 171)? I hope they are not doing double hop (Mississauga -> Scarborough -> St.Clair), which can lead to painful wait for the applicants.
