Got a letter in the mail telling me to go pick up our package, will know the answer in less than 6 hours.

good luck :) Good news :)

Good luck Ttcdfolk! Let us know what you find out.

I have hesitated to post an update because there are so many folks still waiting . . . but I cannot help but post a little success story, and perhaps it will serve as a little encouragement to those patiently waiting - that the process works, patience is rewarded, and it will all work out in the end.

I've been extra lucky as we applied outland, and I've been able to stay in Poland with my spouse the entire time. When we 'land' my spouse in Canada this summer, I will be moving back home to Canada also.

We picked up our Confirmation of Permanent Residency this morning at the Embassy!

We're in Warsaw and the Embassy actually called me on my mobile on Friday afternoon, asking to speak to my wife. I gave them her cell number, and when they called her she accidentally hung up on them, probably because I was texting her at the same moment to tell her to make sure her ringer was on! We had a few moments of mini drama not knowing what was going on, then my wife called the Embassy back and got the answering machine. On the second try, she left a message with a real person. The Embassy called back within a few minutes to tell her that her papers were ready to be picked up!!

We also received email notification from the visa office - it looks like they sent the email around the same time they called.

We didn't have time to do it on Friday, so picked them up today.

Application sent: 21 November 2012
COPR issued: 8 March 2013
Total time: 108 days, or 3 months 16 days. (including a 20 day delay caused by me procuring an additional document)

We're very pleased with the speed of our visa office, and feeling very lucky. Over the weekend we already booked our flights home, so it's been an exciting few days. Still lots of work for us to do here, making everything ready to go, packing up our lives here and moving what we decide to keep.

So, best of luck to those of you waiting - it will come! In my mind, our process is not really complete until we have landed in Calgary. Good things come to those who wait!

Congrats thats awesome wishing you and your wife a happy landing. Check in with us love to hear your final landing story.

So long story short, my wife and I walked to the post office this morning to grab the package from the Canadian Embassy in Hong Kong. So we got there and opened it up and all the original documents were there, plus her passport and a her COPR. My wife couldn't stop jumping up and down, and in China that gets a lot of stares, plus I am white to boot.

So my time line was;
Application sent: 15 Nov. 2012
Sponsorship Approval: 1 Dec. 2012
AOR from Hong Kong:10 Dec. 2012
PPR + extra info (birth certificate): 08 Feb. 2013
Passpot Sent: 25 Feb. 2013
COPR issued: 05 March 2013
Passport Back in Hand: 13 March 2013
Landing: 07 July 2013

So from App sent to COPR issued: 111 days total, which looks like a record for the Hong Kong VO, or at least that is what my wife's website is saying.

And one final thing I am very happy with how quickly Hong Kong got it all done. 16 month VO done in less then 4 months. My wife and I must be in the top 10%.

Congrats to whose who got their visas. That was super fast. Hope the rest of us will get your kind of luck.

Thanks! And congrats on your own approval!

We're not heading back until early August. Lots to do here between now and then: family visiting, more family visiting, getting rid of stuff, packing, making the apartment ready for sale, closing accounts, changing addresses, it's a long list!

See you in Alberta!
