Oh and just for general info - I got my reply from the Ottawa email address - so it really does look like a group of us were stuck there until you push them to process it!

Agreed - I got my Stage 1 approval from Ott Pilot an hour after phoning them...

Wow, well I guess you're the early leader . But from what I understand, you've also been pretty active in other threads, helping folks out, etc. So there's no shame! I actually started trying to limit my log in time when I noticed it was keeping track. When I'm done on the forum I'm sure to close the tab!

Ms Malawi wins the prize anyway for being the dutiful maintainer of the spreadsheet. Many thanks for your meticulous attention to this! Very interesting to see it progress.

nzandcanada, wow...I'm sorry you had to wait so long. But...congratulations! I'm really happy you found out about your stage 1 approval now, and good thing you went to your MP! We also got help from my husband's MP office and I found out my file is in London (London doesn't send AOR).

I know this might sound really stupid but I'm kinda feeling our November group is in this process together and I've been hoping everyone gets their sponsorship approval fast, because it has really taken quite a long time now and I wish they hadn't send our files to Ottawa since it delayed the processing (assuming it's like that of course). But there must be a lot I don't know of course, I'm sure they just tried to make it fast for everyone.

Really glad to hear you went to the MP too! Honestly I'm not as optimistic as some on here. I'm very disappointed in my country's immigration system. We pay a lot in taxes and all applicants paid a large fee for this service. Its completely unacceptable that we are so in the dark about our application processing. There is not accountability for mistakes like the one with my sponsorship application. We are very lucky to have to opportunity to have a voice when things are not done fairly. I really hope that others in my situation go to their MPs and take action.

Hi Guys, I have followed this forum since I sent my application in November of last year. I just got my sponsorship approval email this past Monday. Here is my details:

Visa office: Bogota
Medical Done: June-2012
Application Sent: Nov-25-2012
Application Received: Nov-28-2012 (as per courier tracking information)
AOR: Never received one
Sponsorship Approval: Feb-25-2013

I did called last Friday as the processing time jump from November 20 to January 29. The call centre agent told me they didn't have any info on my application and that she would send an email to the processing office for them to update my file. I'm so glad I called

I emailed KGN visa office yesterday asking if they have received my application. I received an email this morning that my application is in process and the applicant will be contacted.

Good day everyone,

Finally got hold of CIC call center. I have good news and bad news...Good news is that they have received my application according to my tracking number back in late November....Bad news, is that they have not even began processing it!! Really?? According to the call center agent, "they must of forgot about my file, it is very unusual"! For a second, it almost sounded like I won 6/49 (shock and disbelieve). They told me to call back in one month if I do not hear anything...whooo whoooo....what's another month of waiting??? Maybe I will break the record (the longest wait time) for stage 1 approvals!! Exciting times ahead indeed!!


I guess, whatever happens, happens for a reason!!
