Hi everyone, Hope you all had a great Christmas. Just looking at the board and I see there has been very little movement from when I left on Dec 19th until now....Bummer. So what are the office working hours for this time of year. I noticed someone posted 25, 26. Jan 1st as well...or do they close up until after Jan 1st? I also noticed on the spread that there is no movement at all for applications recieved Nov 1st - Nov 8th. I am really scratching my head on that one. For me the applications must be all together on one desk with the employee absent. Just seems strange that there would be so much movement following Nov 8th...Oh well,,,,,,,back to waiting and checking mails I guess......

well i knew once it got closer to the holidays that we wouldn't be hearing anything until after the New Year. They must have some time off now because last i checked the processing times are still working on Nov. 6 applications... really wish I would hear something soon.

Hi Guys!

I'm new to this forum.

I'm being sponsored by my common-law partner in the family class.

Our application was received on the 5th of November, and last Monday the day before Christmas, we've called CIC and they told us my boyfriend is approved as my sponsor and they're sending out the papers to Vienna.

So I think it's best to call the Visa office, for those who send out their papers before the 6th of November, just to see where your application is at for the moment.

Hope you guys will hear something soon!

nope not yet. still waiting for new years to pass by, im just assuming theyre gonna tell me i havent heard anything cause of the holidays if i call now anyway...

change of subject... my husband just came and visited for 5 days (was supposed to be for but the flight got cancelled so i had an extra day woo hoo!!!) US customs gave him the HARDEST time coming in all because he didnt have his return ticket printed out yet, mind you all the times ive travelled back and forth to the same airport they never asked to see my return ticket, besides you cant even print out that boarding pass until 24 hours before your flight... anyway, he got back home without a problem probably since he's canadian and they knew he was just coming home (it was also a really quiet day at customs, one person in front of my husband and that was it). i'm graduating hair school in less than 2 weeks now, and would like to go back and be with my husband for an extended period of time since it's going to take about a month for my cosmetology license to get to me and i cant work in between that time without that license... (would rather spend my free time up in canada with my husband rather than alone here with nothing to do). i'm going to book the flight there today, but i'm not going to book the flight back home until i know when i'm ready to come back and until i know when i'm supposed to get my license. i'm worried about them giving me a hard time about not having a return ticket like they did with my husband, even though it was US customs that gave him a hard time not Canadian customs... does anyone know how easily they grant United States citizens who are married to a Canadian citizen a Visitor Record? they gave it to me the last time with very little question, the officer just wanted an estimate of how long i was going to be there, and of course now that i know how immigration works with past experiences i know that if i need to i can renew it! i just wanna know if there's any specific documents i need to take with me just in case they need to know something that i wasn't aware of. so far i have the receipt for the application fee's, and i plan on bringing my certificate from school with me for proof that i graduated and have already taken the state board test and am just waiting on an answer.

I just paid the RPRF online cause didn't want to wait for them to request which will delay the application !
My question is, is it possible to fax the receipt to Mississauga and my visa office or sent it by mail?

Hi ABDE...........You might try sending the reciept along if you have the right address. I don't know what happens when they request the reciept, as in does the case worker request the reciept with a specific address that they will reiceve it or does it just get recieved with the rest of the mail at CIC. You wouldn't want it to get buried under a pile of incoming applications and delay your process because they can't find it. You might try calling the call center and see what they suggest.

I called the Guangzhou Embassay in China today, and it still sounded like they were on holidays. But Hong Kong was working in full force.

Happy 2013 everyone, hope your holidays were amazing! Spent a lovely week with my wife, can't wait to go back to Canada in May! As far as I know I don't think CIC is back to work until next week, here's hoping all of our applications are at the top of the pile! Gooo Ottawa Go!!

I applied on Nov 22nd, 2012
got sponsor approval on Dec 8th
got stage 2 AOR from my visa office in Vienna on Dec 20th.

Is there a link to the spreadsheet? I can add myself or someone can put the above info in for me if it's locked.
