Yes darling 4000.00 is correct...my hubby worked his bum off and paid him. Basically he filled out our application for us mailed it express mail, took my husband to immigration to give him his plane ticket he overstayed in the country. Other than that he hasn't done anything else for the 4000. The 1050 I believe for the application fee was in the 4000 he paid. I still need to pay the 490 for the landing fee. I will be changing the mailing address from the lawyers office to my address. I couldn't believe he had the nerve to tell my husband that him and I will need to do a interview. Like really how would he know this does he actually work at the visa office? Lol only they can judge if our marriage is genuine. I know deep down there won't be a interview our pictures says it all were in love. I have tried to contact the lawyer he just wants to run me of the phone telling me that my hubby will be back in 8-10 month he's all bs. Gets me so upset ugh.

Lawyers can be a pain in the ass....I regret using one too....I'm considering doing the same thing as you cause honestly he did nothing for me but help full out the papers.....I told him to email my VO and tell them we have an addition to the family our baby girl has arrived and I wanna know how much longer n what's going on....he said he sent them the email (this was from February 18) and until now he has yet to reply to me......I know Ottawa doesn't take a whole month to reply to emails.....I'm just so mad I wasted my money on a lawyer....

If the $1040 (not 1050) is included in your lawyer fee, this should include your RPRF of $490. you might want to double check before paying it again. also, if you (or your lawyer) have not yet paid the $490. I would suggest getting on it right away. If you are denied for some terrible reason, it will be refunded. If you are approved, you do not want the additional delays. also, after you have paid the RPRF (I strongly suggest paying online), don't forget to mail, fax or email a copy of the receipt to Mississauga.

There are several threads on the forum about the delays caused by waiting for them to ask for RPRF. I sure wish we had not waited.

Good luck

Hi all!!!
I have done some updates, please let me know if I missed any!

Thanks Ms Malawi, can you also add that my AOR from Kiev is Mar 11th. The embassy replied to my email when I asked about when our papers were received there, giving a March 11th date. It's not an official AOR. but i think it's acceptable.

Thank you for the updates.

I just spoke with our MP office and his assistant put in an inquiry about the status of my hubby's PR status I'm so excited. Just wanted to share with everyone =)

He got my husband out of canada in a good way I'm pleased with that. Other than that I'm going to take charge I am submitting 60 pages of supporting documents to the VO. Also going to change the address to my address or my husbands. The landing fee of 490 is not including in the 4000 so I have to pay this. Is the 490 included in your lawyer fees?

The 490 is not covered in the lawyer fees sadly so will need to pay that soon. My case won't get through before Nov so I have some time to pay.

No but my lawyer only charged$1,500... Plus the fee for the application $500 plus....and I didn't pay the landing fee yet either.

So much money wasted for nothing I'm saving up for the landing fee next month after my vacation from visiting my husband. The immigration process is straining on the wallets when you have to support your loved one fully.
