Congratulations RM15!! That's great news!! I look at the CIC website every Thursday (not to say that I look almost everyday!!).....hoping the number of days would change but no! :( It seems to be moving very slowly....I hope it's slowly but surely! ;) I am wondering if it's normal that I have no details when I search on the CIC website for my application. I guess it is but I need to be reassured!! ;) Our application was received by Mississauga office on Nov. 26th...and they are now processing apps received on Nov. 9th as per the website. I guess that is normal that I don't have any details whatsoever when i use my receipt number? They'll probably upload my info once they open my envelope?? Can't wait! Thank God we have this forum, I read it daily and it helps me to go through the waiting.....which is just starting! Good luck to all! Hope we'll all have awesome news soon!!

Good morning Bibiche!

It is normal to not have any news on ecas.. its all hit and miss on who can or who can't access their account and when. For me I couldn't get on with my reciept number and had to wait until I had my file number. Once they start to process your application you will have movement!! It is frustrating. I remember asking why I couldn't but every else could. Just be patient and your time is coming!

Thanks Ms.Malawi!! I guess patience is a key word here!! ;D I feel better to know that it was the same for you! I'll wait until I get a file number.

Congrats to Mel as well! Great news, it must feel good! Can't wait to have that feeling! ;D

Patience is definitely the key word. However I know how hard it is to be patient when you want to know whats going on and just want to be with your partner! But this is a great support network, and most people I have come across are amazing. So ask away and stay and chat and it helps with patience but also keeps your mind off dwelling over the whole immigration process. My opinion of course!

Hey Everyone,

I have some good news, finally.

We just received sponsor approval at 8 am Canada time. Email was from OttPilot-Immigration @ cic.gc.ca.

I hope you get yours soon Bscinto! and can share some good news with us!
Congratulations Mel and others who got their approvals.
Seems like our files got transferred to Pilot Office - Ottawa. They are already overwhelmed with clearing backlog for Parents and Grandparents and other categories.

Almost done with this week. I really hope they can clear some more of us from November before this week ends

Sailing in the same boat :(, Forum definitely helps, but i guess, hearing no updates hurts too...

Congratulations RM15! :)

just called the help center to get assurance with the update on the website, she said...hopefully in two weeks you should hear something...as they working on Nov 9th Applications...I did mention, last week also they were working on the same files, in reply she mentioned, possibly they could have more files....hmmmm....

but no updates as such...for sure it hasn't been touched yet...but stay positive! Life's one of the biggest and hardest lesson...Fruits of Patience are always sweet!

well tomorrow is my birthday so we have the rest of today and tomorrow to hear something and if it comes by tomorrow that will officially be the BEST birthday present i have ever gotten. was hoping for it to be a christmas present but its a bit late for that now lol. oh and congrats to mel grover!!! things have been moving faster this week so its making me more hopeful...

Alex, as far as we can tell there is no rhyme or reason to how files get choosen. The best guess is they get put on a desk and then when that pile reaches the "limit" they move to the next. It depends how fast your IO works and with the holiday season, it added more time to the progress! I guess its the luck of teh draw if you are approved in 6 days or 3 months!

I recently heard those on this forum are only about 11% of all applications recieved by CIC.. so who knows how many more submitted in early November and haven't heard anything!

For those left.. here's hoping!!!

Ms. Malawi,

Thanks for your reply. I am sure they are more than capable of setting up the system 'first-come, first-served', but I am guessing they are using randomization process on purpose. In addition, some files could take longer than others, which is understandable...but when u see a gap between the files in the process from early Nov and approvals for files in mid/late Dec, makes you wonder. Definitely holiday season added more time. Have you guys looked at December spreadsheet? It is pretty much blue....some even got their AOR from VO. Don't get me wrong....I am sincerely happy for December applicants and wishing them good luck in stage2 .......I just hope CIC can concentrate their resources to address files that are way overdue!!!

Lets hope the gap will be filled in short order. :)

alex, I am with you on this, but if we see VO specific files and then compare the AOR's or Sponsorship approvals, may be then we will be able to set up a pattern....like I noticed with VO London, getting processed kind-of faster than the others...

Thank you fellow November applicants :)... And let's keep praying that the rest of us will get the approvals this week too. Mel Grover, congratulations! You are next, Bscinto...and i hope for your speedy recovery.

Hi There,
We submitted Nov 27th 2012 the outland common-law sponsorship.
Right now the processing times listed on the website are WAY off. I called and they said that they are just really behind...
My co-worker submitted the same application for her husband on Dec 13th and has already been approved as a sponsor.
What is everyone else's experience?
They are supposed to be up to Nov 9 now which is far more than the 55 days they state.
Just so frustrating to wait after all that work!
When I was checking the processing while putting the app together it was 32 days and they were accurate with the day they posted....
Guess the holidays really changed things!
Good luck everyone!

Welcome to the thread! If you would like to be added to the spreadsheet please provide the date you did your medicals and which is your VO.

And yes it is a very confusing process how there is not rhyme or reason to who hears something first or last. Its just part of the process, or "waiting game" I keep reminding myself. There is a light at the end of the tunnel, the length of the tunnel is just a little longer for some us!

Ms Malawi,

Please be kind enough to add/correct the following on the spreadsheet:

Application Sent date: Nov 5, 2012
Date App CPC-M Received as per Tracking: Nov 8, 2012
Stage 1 AOR: Nov 22, 2012
Sponsorship Approval date: Dec 5, 2012

Also, has anybody seen a thread and/or spreadsheet for Nairobi applicants? (was thinking in similar fashion to the Pretoria Spreadsheet in Ms. Malawi's signature).

Thank you
