CIC is quite random in some things, so i wouldn't worry too much about not receiving the confirmation letter. It is great to get it as confirmation your file has been opened, but not getting it doesn't mean anything, lots of people receive their approval without getting that first letter

so i guess what your saying it depends on the representatives from the immigration if they take the time to send confirmation or not

Salam to all!

I applied for my wife's immigrationship and wanted to share my thoughts. I never thought i would sign up for a forum like this and discuss time lines and issues but i guess we all need a shoulder to cry on! Ok guys, i did alot a of research and i think this is whats going to happen.

CIC is going to start a new Provincial Nominee Programme again in 2012 which means all the applicant traffic going to Missisauga will be reduced as Canadians will apply under that programme. Now as my wife is in Pakistan, Islamabad, i applied for her immigrationship as follows :

September 10th,2011 = I sent the complete case file to Missisauga.

September 15th12011 = They recieved my case. (Sent through Fedex)

November 17th,2011 = I got an email from Canadian Counsulate (You have met the requirements and case is being transfered to Pakistan for further processing) (2 Months)

Now from my understanding about the time lines, i think its going to take 10 more months for the processing. May be more, may be less.

My Question: Will i get another email confirming that the case is with islamabad emassy now?

When i log on to the website with my application credentials, it says application recieved and nothing else. Is that status likely to change?

Please share your valuable thoughts.

Regards,
Omar

Most of the information is available at their website. (Timelines offcourse)

For pakistan guys, the processing average time is 26 months at the moment.

The only thing which fires me up is the long processing time + correspondence with the embassy.

What tracking number?

The tracking number which your courier gave you so you can track down your package. You can always go online and check on their website depending who you sent the package with. Could be fedex, DHL, Canada Post etc etc...

they updated CIC to October 11. But I can assure you that they working on Oct. 11 since DEc. 15.

i've been checking the cic processing times since morning, and it still shows as October 6, are you sure?
