...I would have committed a few major faux pas' if it wasn't for this site!
Let me see how I can make this not seem complicated. A
I am in Canada now visiting my husband while I am in process. I arrived on 8th August via car through the Detroit/Windsor Tunnel. I am going back to the states for ten days on 23rd September for a wedding and family time. I am in the Niagara area and contemplating going through either Buffalo or Toronto but can't decide. This is what has me buggered -
Buffalo is cheaper and is slightly closer - however - the only car we have is with US plates, titled in my name. My husband is insured as a driver and has "permission" or whatever, but we have been encouraged for him not to take it across the border on his own. This means that I would need to shuttle to and from Buffalo (which would then probably make that trip more expensive than if I went through Toronto).
My concern is now over my return. Will the officers find it at all fishy that I drove my own car in and left it in Canada while I went to the states for 10 days? Or will they even notice or care? Am I totally overanalysing this one?
This is what happens in my head when I can't work and thrive on daily challenges and routines! It goes into overthink everything mode.
FWIW we will be exporting/importing the car whenever my visa is issued and I land. Unfortunately we couldn't change the title to my husbands name before we drove it over for a few reasons I don't feel the need to get into. Believe me if we could have and then had him export/import when he repatriated, we would have.
Thanks guys!
