Hello mates,

I am not accompanying spouse and just want to apply for my PR, are they asking for any reason for such decision?

Regards,
Ronak

No - they won't ask for a reason.

Keep in mind that the non-accompanying spouse will still need to complete and pass the medical - and also provide police certificates and pass the security / background checks.

Thank you for reply, I didn't know that!!! My wife is green card in USA, I believe she will be doing medical, PCC and security clearance in USA. what else I should be aware of for my case?

She will need to provide PCCs for the US and any other country she has lived in for six months or more since the age of 18.

so it is totally fine! not to include your spouse to accumulate you points higher?
I asked this on twitter and they said it is fine. I even mentioned in my application that with accompanying I cannot be invited due to low CRS and wish to sponsor my wife once I settle in Canada with a good job. Let's see what visa officers say about this.

CRS is not the only reason people are choosing spouses to be non accompanying. Yes - there are issues with in land applicants who are applying as spouse non accompanying. Technically - how can you be non accompanying if you are located within the same country?
