I've been reading about RQs and I am now worried that when my husband files his application, it will be flagged as non-routine due to all the business travel he does. I am a worry wart by nature, but can anyone comment on their own experience?

Thanks!

Maybe if you give more details you 'll get an answer. How many travels? how long was each travel? did he travel alone while family is in Canada( kids attending school)? All depends on the big picture. someone who travels a lot while his family is in Canada has ties to Canada while someone who spends 6 months a year overseas with his wife and maybe kids or maybe his kids don't even live in Canada....that could be a flag.

Thank you for your prompt reply. :) Details:

He travels every 2-3 months for a week, maybe two. We own a company in Switzerland (LLC), but run it from here in Canada. Our (3) children all attend school here. I attend university here. We file Canadian taxes here. We travel as a family once or twice a year to visit my mum and step-father in America. That's it. I just don't want to miss anything in our application. We're not quite there with time to file his citizenship application, but I am gathering the necessary documents to file and doing some research. This feels almost as stressful as the PR application. ???

You will be fine. Don't worry. If your kids attend school in Canada and you go to university here that means your life is here and you have more ties to Canada.
What kind of company/business? if I may ask. This has nothing to do with your application by the way

Thank you. :)

We an have an IT security company. I was just getting nervous due to the travels. We're trying to validate all the dates he has been gone. He's never gone for more than about 2 weeks, but it's getting *all* the dates. Ugh. I certainly do not want to miss any.

Thank you again for the help. Now on to getting the children's school record (?) from Switzerland. Our kids were only 2, 4, and 7 when we came. Formal schooling in Switzerland doesn't start till 7 and they don't give report cards. ::) We have letters from the head teacher confirming their enrolment and the dates they attended. I hope it's enough.

I'm Canadian, the children are Canadian too. It's only him submitting a citizenship application.
