@Miss bee Whats happening with Oct + Nov + Dec 2024 applications :( when can we expect any movement? I know nothing to do here but it just not fair to skip these months and work on applications that were received months after... Our progress in life is kindoff paused right now.
November 2024 applicant here. Also stuck in this limbo.

I had my MP contact IRCC, and their response was that my case is non-routine, which is just an excuse to say that the posted processing time is not applicable. Check back in 3 months, they said.

eligibility/medical - passed - Sep 26, 2025
security - not started
criminality - in process
IRCC received your military records - Oct 28, 2025

When you have military background, your application automatically becomes non routine. It's doesn't mean it will take forever but they always delay these kinds of applications due to security checks .

I am from August 2023. Maybe you guys should stop whining and remember that there is a good chuck of people who applied way before you and still don't have their applications finalized. Focus on what you can control and the rest isn't really up to us...

Hi @Miss bee

Hi @Miss bee

Please help
If your GCMS notes clearly say the application is approved and “waiting for landing,” it usually means the decision is made and your file is in the final queue for portal invitation (eCOPR step), not that something is wrong. Unfortunately, IRCC often has delays between approval and actually sending the PR portal (PPR/portal email), and this stage can take weeks to a few months depending on workload and office. At this point, you’ve already done the right things—calling IRCC, contacting your MP, and ordering GCMS notes—so the next step is to keep gentle but consistent follow-up. Submit a webform to IRCC explaining that your GCMS notes show approval since February but you have not received portal instructions yet, and request them to trigger or review the finalization. You can also follow up again with your MP’s office (sometimes a second request gets attention), and consider ordering updated GCMS notes if it’s been a couple of months to confirm nothing has changed. Make sure you regularly check your email (including spam/junk) for the PR portal invitation. In most cases like yours, this ends up being a delay in final processing rather than a problem with the application, so it’s a matter of pushing for attention rather than fixing an issue.

But its been more than 7 months now waiting for PPR?

Hello @Miss bee I have ordered the GCMS and in detailed GCMS notes it shows my security verification will be started on 01.05.2026. How long will it take? My medical and biometric was done on August 2025. PAL was on August 28, 2025. There is possibility that IRCC can issue the PPR before expiry of my medical or do i need to do again the medical as it will expire on August 2026.

I have been waiting for my background check to be completed for 29 months, and it is still ongoing. Overall, the entire process has now exceeded three years. And i dont have any hope that this will be done this year. What they are doing to people its just not fair.

I am sorry you've been waiting for so long... Pretty sure you're just like me - you've done everything you could up to this point.

The worst case is that I know that they are doing my military verification, and I dint do my service in regular army I did civilian service helping disable people in one association. I haven't have weapons or did have any military training. They did ask for documents and they did get it that one I did found out from my MP. Last thing that I find out is that my application is give to different office in Feb this year, I dont know what that means at all.

Sorry to hear that! I'm not an expert, and also I'm not sure if the Mandamus is a resource that you can use. I'll suggest you to verify with an immigration professional. Good luck!

I kinda looked into that option as well - was advised that I might end up spending a few thousand dollars on lawyers and fees and still having to wait up to year or so, as the process itself is far from quick.

As I said before not sure about this, but I have seen several videos of immigration lawyers who have used this resource (I don't know the context of these cases) but from what I've seen, they have taken a few months to get a response. What they do make clear is that the process is costly.

Thank you for the insight, @Miss bee

I don't actually have a military background. Brazil has mandatory military service, which requires all male citizens to register in the year they turn 18. While registration is compulsory, only a small percentage are conscripted due to a high surplus of volunteers. That was my case, so I submitted my "Certificate of Exemption from the Draft".
