Dear Miss. Bee, (@Miss bee )

I hope you are doing well.

I am writing to seek clarification regarding document requirements for my Permanent Residence application.

I applied under the BC PNP – Health Authority stream and received a provincial nomination. During my BC PNP application, I submitted all required documents, including my IELTS results, WES ECA, job offer letter, and supporting documents from my employer (Health Authority), and I received my nomination within 35 days.

Subsequently, I submitted my Permanent Residence application under the Non–Express Entry (PNP) stream for myself and my dependent (my wife) on 3rd September. All documents requested by IRCC were provided, including our marriage certificate, police clearance certificates (original and translated copies), travel history, and other supporting documents.

As the PR application checklist did not request IELTS results or WES ECA for either myself or my wife, these documents were not submitted with the PR application.

I would kindly appreciate your guidance on the following:

  • Whether IELTS results are required for myself and/or my wife
  • Whether WES ECA is required for myself and/or my wife
  • Whether there are any additional documents that I should submit at this stage to ensure my application is complete and compliant
My WES ECA is valid until October 2026. Please advise whether I should submit the existing ECA (or renew it) via web form, or if no further action is required at this time.

Thank you very much for your time and support. Your guidance is greatly appreciated.

This situation usually happens because GCKey sometimes shows a “ghost update,” which means the system refreshes or an officer opens or touches the file without issuing any new message, request, or document. When this occurs, the status may briefly change to “application updated,” but once you open the application, nothing new appears and no email notification is sent. Since you already received your PAL and there has been no change in the tracker, it likely indicates internal processing rather than a decision or action required from you. These ghost updates are common and do not necessarily mean approval or refusal; they simply show that your file is still active and being worked on.
Hello again @Miss bee and happy holidays! Day after the ghost update, my background check on the tracker has updated to completed. Nothing has changed on my GCkey though. I understand that the officers are on holiday break, but I just want to ask what’s the next stage after background has been completed. Is it a good sign that the status changed to that in the tracker even there’s nothing on the gckey? Thank you

Yes this is good sign and positive news . If your eligibility is already cleared, you should receive good news soon .
