Hi @Miss bee & everyone,

I received my PR Confirmation Portal (P1) email on October 10 and I already replied with my current address.

However, I’ll be moving to a new house from November 1, on the same street (society) but a different unit. So my question is what should I do about the address change?

Should I mention the new address in the P2 email (when they ask to confirm the address for PR card delivery), or should I wait until after eCOPR and then update it through the webform?

I just want to avoid any confusion or delay, but at the same time, I don’t want it to be seen as misrepresentation if I give the new address before actually moving.

Has anyone else been in a similar situation? What did you do and was it okay?

Hi @Miss bee, hope you are doing well.
I have a quick questions, I finally received my GCMS notes after almost 2 months and everything is basically passed beside security check which is in progress but there is also a due date mentioned for the security check which is in December. what does the security check due date mean?

Anybody have received or seen anybody with more than 3 ghost updates yet nothing shows in the tracker? I have called IRCC each time after ghost updates and they cannot tell me anything at all.

Every time you call IRCC your tracker updates. "we received your enquiry" means they received your call and updated your tracker.

I am checking the tracker daily and kept records of the updates since August as following;

Upd 18 Aug
Upd 21 Aug
Upd 22 Aug
Upd 25 Aug
Upd 16 Sep
Upd 24 Sep
Upd 26 Sep
Upd 29 Sep
Upd 02 Oct
Upd 08 Oct
Upd 10 Oct

So, many updates but no change at all. Though asked for GCMS notes (July 25 submitted, till now no answer; though submitted another request in Sept, let's see if they will answer this time) and not sure if these updates are for GCMS or something else. Before submitting I was getting updates too.

The “due date” in your GCMS notes isn’t a deadline for completion in the legal sense — it’s more of an internal service target or reminder for the officer or the system to review or follow up on the file.
It helps IRCC keep track of when a check or step should ideally be completed or revisited.
2. It doesn’t guarantee completion by that date
Security screening is done in partnership with agencies like CSIS and the RCMP, and IRCC itself has limited control over how long it takes.
So even though there’s a due date (say December 2025), it might:

Finish before that date (if everything clears quickly), orExtend beyond it (if external partners need more time).

3. What the due date
It suggests that the file is still active and being tracked — not forgotten.
If the due date is relatively close (e.g., a few months away), it may indicate the file is within normal processing timelines and the officer expects to revisit it around then.

You’re in a common situation, and your approach shows good awareness. Since you’ve already replied to the PR Confirmation Portal (P1) email with your current address, you don’t need to send an update right now. When you receive the P2 email (where IRCC asks you to confirm your address for PR card delivery), you can safely provide your new address at that stage — even if you haven’t physically moved yet, as long as you’ll be living there by the time they mail your PR card. IRCC primarily uses the P2 confirmation for PR card delivery, not for the eCOPR itself, so giving the new address then will help ensure the card goes to the right place. This won’t be considered misrepresentation because you’re providing your genuine mailing address as of the time the card will be sent. However, if your eCOPR is issued before your move and the PR card process starts earlier than expected, you can update your address afterward through the IRCC webform. In short, it’s fine to mention the new address in the P2 email, and if timing doesn’t align perfectly, you can still update it later without issue — IRCC is used to these small address changes during finalization.

@Miss bee hi again! Thank you for your responses earlier. Um, another question i got promoted from a QA technician to a QA associate, is it worth sending a webform to ircc with a new employment letter. job duties are the same, same company also, I did get a pay rise as well: context: applied through OINP - masters stream - non express entry and received AOR in july.
You don’t need to send a webform to IRCC for this kind of change.
But you can do so optionally, just to keep your file completely up to date — it won’t hurt.
Why It’s Not Required
For OINP Masters Stream (non–Express Entry) applications, your eligibility doesn’t depend on your current job.
The main criteria are your education in Ontario, residency intent, and status in Canada, not your employment or income.
  • Since your employer hasn’t changed and your job duties remain the same, this promotion doesn’t affect any eligibility factors or raise red flags.
  • IRCC is mostly verifying your admissibility (security, medical, etc.) at this stage — not reassessing your employment.
When You Might Consider Sending a Webform
If you want to:
Keep your file 100% current, or
  • Provide an updated employment letter in case they later verify your status for PR card issuance or address history
