Personal Opinion based on person experience (don't start an argument) -Hi @Miss bee - I applied for Non-Express Entry under OINP-ISS in April 2024. I received my AOR in August and completed my biometrics the same month. My medical was passed in October, but there has been no progress on my application since then.
When I reached out to my MP, they informed me that my application is classified as "non-routine" and that they are unable to intervene. According to the IRCC tracker, my background check is still in progress, and eligibility has not yet started. I haven't received any ADR or any other communication from IRCC.
The only possible factor I can think of is a previous study permit refusal, but aside from that, I’m unsure why my application has been flagged this way. Could you provide any insights on what to expect next or why this might be happening? My visa office is Etobicoke.
I don't believe the study permit refusal is the main issue here. I am seeing people with criminal records obtaining citizenship within a few months just because liberals need vote bank for upcoming election. Given the current climate and the negative sentiment towards international students, it seems like Etobicoke is pushing everything to non-routine processing for PNP NON-EE. I've come across numerous similar cases on Facebook and WhatsApp groups, with many receiving unreasonable ADRs. Their processing times are now double the 11-month service standard, despite a decrease in applications. Good luck, but these are tough times for immigrants in Canada. It's truly disappointing that an organization in a developed country can't meet its own service standards.
