Can my husband visit me or does there have to be a medical reason? I'm not really understanding. He would obviously, self isolate... but I miss him. </3

Yes. If he has visa or eta

Thank you for your reply. He doesn't have a visa because I didn't bother applying yet due to being unsure if he was able to visit. What is eta?

An eTA is something that is only available to individuals from visa exempt countries.

Is your husband from a visa exempt country? If so, then he should be able to obtain an eTA quite easily. If not, then he has to apply for a TRV to come to Canada as a tourist

He needs a visa...but also the only VAC in his country is closed, so he won't be able to do biometrics. :( I don't really know what to do anymore...

He'll need to wait for biometrics centres to reopen.

So, for a visitor visa do you apply for the biometrics at the same time as you send the application or do you wait for a letter?

Also, he lost his job recently... obviously, as his wife I can support him when he is visiting...but will he be denied entry if he has no money in his account?

Im a Canadian permanent resident...but I'm guessing since he lost his job...it's unlikely. Does the fact that he went to another country for 10 months on a visa and returned to his home country help in processing a favourable visa?

Depends what country it was. If it was a country requiring a visa like the US or UK, then yes. Otherwise it doesn't help.

He went to Saudi Arabia for 10 months on a visa and returned to his home country.

Unfortunately that won't help his application.

Well, I guess we avoid trying to even bother having him visit here, sounds unlikely. How unfortunate... we will have to wait until self-quarantine ends before I visit him.

I've tried getting an idea of how long the process is taking on average currently... any thoughts? Are we going to be waiting 2 years?

He can still try applying for the TRV. However approval chances are likely on the low side. No harm in trying.

PR applications generally take 12 months however longer right now due to COVID-19.

His VAC is closed anyways... and I'm not sure when it will reopen.

I'm just worried, with the delays it will be 2 years or longer. :`( I really hate that we can't even visit each other.
