Hi, my story is that i gave birth in the Philippines and applied for my sons proof of canadian citizenship in May 2015 and is still currently in process. I will be sponsoring my husband, my son is only 7 months old. We declared him as non accompanying dependant.

Question 1) does my son need to do medical exam as well? Hes only 7 months old.

Another question where it gets complicated. My husband also has a 3yr old son and is not in good terms with his ex gf. She wont even allow him to see his son, they havent talked to each other in years.

We declared his son as non accompanying dependant as well. He may not be able to do medical bec of the situation.

What requirements should we provide for this case? To not have further delays on our application. Please we need answers been so stressed lately :(

If your child is Canadian, he is NOT INCLUDED in the app as a dependent and does not need a medical.

Your husband's child must undergo a medical. If he does not, he will be forever excluded from the Family Class. CIC will expect proof of being unable to get the medical done and your husband would have to submit a notarized declaration stating that he understands his child will be excluded and he will never be able to sponsor him. You can expect this to delay your app, as CIC is quite reluctant to exclude young children from the Family Class.

Do whatever you can to have the child undergo the medical.

What kind of proof would be best for his situation? He called her several times and tried to set a meeting with her. What if we give them a letter from his ex stating that she does not want her son to do a medical examination or come to canada in the future?
