Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Hello all,

Is this mandatory to include NOC code in the reference letter? I will be filling NOC code and work exp info in IM0008 form and I know according to the updated checklist it says "include the corresponding NOC (if known)" as i know my NOC but my employer will not agree to include it in the letter.

*Spam* consultant said, application will be returned or may be rejected if i dont mention NOC in the reference letter......

Please suggest, is it MANDATORY to include NOC ? :o

thanks,

As per document checklist,

- the corresponding National Occupational Classification ( NOC ) code ( if known ),

the magic words are 'if known'. That means if your employer knows the NOC code, he should
put it in the letter, however, if he doesn't know it he doesn't have to put it in.

Make sense, doesn't it?

I'm just glad that I didn't hire any representatives.

The new rules only applies to applications received on or after November 9th anyway.
So if your application was received before that, you don't have to worry at all.
If it was received after November 9th, then you don't have to worry either, as CIC can't expect
employers to know anything about NOC codes.
