vmpvmp,

Sorry about that, is it related to NOC duties?

Regards

Hi vmpvmp
Sorry about rejection. I will be getting same letter soon.
I can understand your personal problems so take your time.
Please let me know whether CHC New Dehli has returned original documents to you with rejection letter or not?
Also please confirm whether it is based on NOC or other?
Take your time....
Regards Desai

i got rejection.
no more proceeding to Canada.

Hi AMK,

Very sorry to hear that it was a rejection on your case. On what grounds they refused your application? Please reply. Thanks

Sorry to hear that.

I have very similar situation as yours. I think Teaching assistantships counts for working experience but not within 38 priority job titles. 1 year as teaching assistant means you have half of year full time working experiance, plus your 1.5 years continuous back in your country. The total is 17 points I believe. I guess your employment letter must be very important to show you are eligible to further processing. I am not sure of these things. When did you file your applications? I submitted my application Oct 14, 2008. So I am not sure how my application was reviewed first.

Luckily I was requested medical exam already and hope they won't reject me later.

any of you people here have phd or applying as teaching assistant under 4131?

I do not think Teaching assistant is under NOC4131, BUT it does count for job experience for points.

Hi huanhuan19,

thanks for u'r reply.
I do not which NOC code to apply to? Can you help me? :)

I have PhD (Chemistry) and post-doc from US, and was teaching assistant for 7 years while doing my PhD.

I do not know whether to pick 4121 or 4131? I also see 4122 (TA, post doc), but it is not in 38 eligible list, it appears in only secondary title list?

Please suggest.

And Happy New Year to all, it is already New Year in Eastern Hemisphere.

Very harsh rejection and You got a bad luck.
Sane JD's , other people getting approved, but yours one they rejected.

There are hundreds of Application Assessment officers and they have different mood and the worst thing is that there is no appeal/Review policy in the FSW category. This seems very frustrating for people who dont desreve rejection.

Can2009Applicant:

One suggestion you can try. Technically post-docs are designated as Faculty in US universities. Now I'm assuming as a post-doc you are conducting research, writing publications in scientific journals, writing grant proposals to obtain funding, attending national and international conferences, reviewing manuscripts for publication in journals and maybe mentoring students in your lab.

Now, if you can get your PhD professor to write an employment letter stating you are working as a 'Visiting Scholar' at ...University and mention all the responsibilities that you are performing (which are true because you are doing all these things), you can apply in NOC code 4121 and I think it should be a slam dunk case.

Talk to your professor and mention your predicament, I'm sure he will be more than willing to write you an employment letter you need.

If anyone else has suggestions, they can also contribute.

Good luck.

are you not doing any lecturing as a post-doc?

Hm...is another postdoc in Canada possible?
This will bring you to Canada now, and you can apply in FSW Cat 3 one year later....

For a postdoc position, you dont need LMO.

Thank you all for the replies. Appreciate it.

mpapdp.1984, did you mean obtaining a letter from my PhD advisor or Postdoc advisor?

I have better relations with my PhD advisor than my post-doc professor. Will it help if I get letter from the former?

thanks again to all you guys and "Happy New Year" to those in North America and Canada.

I meant from your post-doc professor. He will be the one who will write the current employment letter. If you do not have a cooperative post-doc supervisor, try to see if you can get such a letter from your HR person. HR people from the department are usually very helpful and accomodative. Otherwise just have a honest conversation with your post-doc supervisor and see if he can help.

I am wondering, under Pakistani education system which teaching jobs are eligible for NOC 4131(College and Other Vocational Instructors).
What I understand from the job description is that immigrant applicant must be teaching the students seeking diploma. Teachers teaching undergraduate degree/BA/BSc/BCS or HSCC/grade 12 are not elligible.

Please shed some light on this.
