Hi Desai,
It may sound funny but i didn't get what ECAS is.
@ Rupesh:did u also apply under NOC 4131. I know another person who applied under same category and whom i gave advice regarding the JDs to match it with the JDs listed under NOC 4131 and make it descriptive. His application got approved and is under further processing. So that's why I am thinking of reapplying. What is FSW1?

Thanks
Ram

Guys,

Sorry if this question is a bit unrelated but did any of you who applied under NOC 4131 did NOT give IELTS and were still considered for further processing on the basis that fluency in English is needed for being an instructor? I have applied under NOC 4121 and have not submitted IELTS scores. I have had some initial correspondence with the consulate and they have not requested the scores yet. Am just keeping fingers crossed that they do not ask me to submit the scores.

Thanks

@Harry,
Here is what my friend wrote under JDs. He had 4 yrs teaching experience in his country.
1. taught undergrads with plan of lecture
2. published text based books
3. evaluated studies, prepared and marked tests
4. planned, organized and lead technical projects

@mpapdp:To go through initial processing, u don't need IELTS score. If u get approved, then u need to submit the scores. I have question regarding that. Is it possible that teh IELTS scores can be waived based on the fact that u have completed ur masters in United States? I have heard if you write an essay demonstrating ur proficiency in english in all aspects(listening, writing, reading and speaking), you may not need to submit IELTS if you get lucky. Any thoughts on that??

I had sent my application to Sydney, Canada and the response time for that initial processing was 8-10 weeks

Here are few points that i had written as my JDs
1. tutored undergraduate electronics and computer engineering students(then i mentioned the courses)
2. maintainance of lab equipments
3.planned, organized, lead technical projects
4. instructed lab works(mentioned courses)

My thoughts on why this was not accepted - these sound like teaching assistant duties. "Tutoring" is not "teaching" here.

You would have to be able to demonstrate full course responsibility - designing course curricula, classroom instruction, student evaluation, etc.

That is true. That does sound like a TAing rather than teaching.

I had written an essay requesting them to waive the ILETS based on my language proficiency. Have not got anything from them yet about sending the scores.

I don't think IELTS and the NOC code is related. Anyone with or without IELTS will be treated as such despite the NOC code.

I guess you are right Rupesh. I'll update the forum if they send me a request for IELTS.

Good luck.

Hello guys,
I have decided to reapply for skilled worker under NOC 4131
I have few queries.
1. I have 2 yrs work experience as lecturer( to undergrad electronics and computer engineering students) in my country. Will that be sufficient?
2. I have 1 year teaching assistant experience in US working 20 hrs a week. Will they also consider it as a teaching experience? If not, in the form Schedule 3, shall i mention it as my work experience? will it fir under NOC 4131?
3. I am in OPT right now in US. IN background declaration form , section #11, personal history, shall i just write unemployed from the day i graduated to present date?
IS there any one who knows a good agent and agent fees?
Since mine application was rejected, i am thinking to be more careful? would it be a good idea?

Thanks
Ram

1) that should be fine as long as you did the duties of a lecturer
2) why dont you count this as TA NOC, you will still get points for it.
3) unemployed is okay, if that is what you are.

Rupesh,
Can u give the NOC code for the TA? So, it will just add to the points but don't count as a experience for NOC 4131?
And any idea about the Agents?
Do u think i should try on my own or take help of agent? Can they make my case little stronger?

Thanks

I am not sure of the code for TA, but if you go to the NOC website and search for 4131, you can see at the end of the page, related NOCs. TA is one of those related NOCs.

No idea about agents. I did it myself. If your application is clear cut, then I would do it myself but if there is something about your points that is not clear cut, maybe they can help.

Hi Nouvelzelande

Hi amk,

Sorry for that. what is the reason for this second rejection (your new application)? did you get rejection letter? what has included?
