Hi All,

I am trying to create EE profile and I'm confused with which NOC should I choose. I have work experience in different companies but the job title varies although the work which I have done in these companies is same.

Below are the Job titles in each company (first being the latest)
1) Application Developer - 2 years
2) Sr. Software Engineer - 2 year
3) Software Engineer - 9 months
4) Web Developer - 3 months
5) Software Developer - 1 year

Does Application Developer & Software Developer comes under NOC-2173 (Software Engineers)? Can I select NOC-2173 for 1) & 5)?

Please help me choosing the right NOC for my work experiences.

Thanks,
Navjot Kaur

Your job title has nothing to do with NOC. Choose the NOC which is closest to your job duties. So even if your job title is software developer, you can choose 2173 NOC (Provided your JD matches noc 2173)

Hello,

I am a postgraduate from BC and applied for BCPNP by mentioning that my NOC code and title are 2173 and Software Developer. I got the nomination with No restrictions from BC as I am a postgraduate, and then I applied for Permanent Residency with the same NOC code, i.e., 2173, because my duties match with this code more. However, my title is Software Developer, which is actually the title of NOC 2174. In my reference letter, my Canadian employer mentioned my title as Software Developer and added the NOC code as 2173. Could someone please suggest if this is ok?
