how is work experience calculated? i am applying under 2147. is it calculated exactly after the degree is awarded?

work experience = the time you spent in a job (parttime/fulltime/paid/unpaid/internship etc)..just check CIC site for the paid/unpaid part.

does it have a relation with the completion of the degree. i mean is it obligatory that paid employment will be considered after you have been granted your degree?

Dear All,

CIC only did update data on their website once. According to them they have received total of 65 applications. Does anyone has any idea, is this the number of applications received or the number of application approved for immigration?

As per my research, 2147 is a regulated profession in most provinces. Hence even if you are qualified, the requirement upon landing would be to get Professional Engineering license without which you cannot work in this or any other engineering profession. This is an important point to keep in mind when you are applying as you may not be on the job for next 1 - 1.5 years after landing unless you have PEng license.

My application reached on Sep 12. I have applied for 2147. I haven't received any information on my PER. Please can anybody advise me whether i will be in the cap and if so when i can expect the PER. :-X :-\
