Hello ;) I just entered the pool.
NOC 1221. CRS is 458 .
1 year experience as an educational counsellor in a private high school. I know that the NOC 4033 is more suitable for me. But I m not getting the minimum pay as an educational counsellor in toronto (21 per hour minimum). At the first 6 months, I got 16 per hour, for the later 6 months I got 20 per hour. Do you think I can still apply with the code 4033 or i can just use 1221 because of low pay rate?
Please give me some ideas!

Thank you guys!

You can't just pick and choose the NOC that you think might work. You have to match the NOC to the job duties and responsibilities described in your letter of employment. If your NOC does not match the duties in the letter, you will likely be refused. Your wage may be a little low, but it's not that bad, and it is a smaller problem than choosing the correct NOC for your job.

Thank you for your reminding. Actually my job duties match NOC 4033 the most, but my pay rate is much lower that the minimum rate for the first 6 months, so I am afraid this half year may not be counted qualified. I would use NOC 4033 for as my code since Jan 2015 till now. What do you think I should do with the first 6 months' experience?

I found this on CIC's website:
Question
Does the one year of work experience to qualify under the Canadian Experience Class include non-paid employment? Is there a minimum wage requirement for qualifying employment?
Answer
Non-paid employment does not qualify under the Canadian Experience Class. You must have been paid a wage (or earned a commission) but there is no minimum wage requirement for your qualifying work experience.

Full-time work experience means working at least 30 paid hours per week. To qualify, you must have skilled work experience, meaning work in occupations listed at NOC Skill Type 0 (managerial), or NOC Skill Level A (professional occupations) or NOC skill Level B (technical and trade occupations).

I hope this helps. Good luck!!
