Hi Reddy,

If you do not find the exact job title on the NOC list you have to find one that matches the closest to your job title. According to a lawyer I met you have to match 80% of the job description on the NOC list at the time of application.

You do have to get a letter stating your job description (make sure it matches as much as possible to the NOC description). The letter should state as much as possible, including position, employer, job description, pay, date of employment, working hours, basically as much detail as you can provide will work to your advantage.

The manager does not have to mention anything about NOC codes or description. It is your responsibility to give your manager a detailed letter and just tell him or her to approve and put it on a letter heard with their signature.

Hope this was helpful

The NOC does not have to be in the letter of reference, but the applicant does have to specify an NOC on the application form.

If you would like our help, you can post your job title and duties and responsibilities here, perhaps someone will find your NOC. ..

It would probably be 9465, - unfortunately - because that is classified as unskilled and not eligible under the CEC program.

9465 Testers and graders, food, beverage and associated products processing
http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/noc/english/noc/2011/ProfileKeyword.aspx?val=9&val1=9465&val11=food&val12=0&val13=0&val14=&val15=0&val16=0

There's a job title like "quality control checker – food and beverage processing" in the group.

Do you manage/supervise other people? That would be a skilled NOC, 9213 -
http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/noc/english/noc/2011/ProfileNocCode.aspx?val=9&val1=9213&val17=9465&val18=0&val19=0

You could also look at 2233, Industrial engineering and manufacturing technologists and technicians, but sometimes a similar job in a different industry gets a different classification, so industry does matter in these classifications.
http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/noc/english/noc/2011/ViewAllTitlesKeyword.aspx?val=2&val1=2233&val11=quality+assurance&val12=0&val13=0&val14=&val15=0&val16=0

A final possibility might be 2211, Chemical technologists and technicians
http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/noc/english/noc/2011/ProfileKeyword.aspx?val=2&val1=2211&val11=quality%20assurance&val12=0&val13=0&val14=&val15=0&val16=0

There's a job title of quality control technician – food processing - but your job duties would have to have an element of chemistry -

I don't know if it "works" - if you have a background in chemistry and the job duties fit, it might be the right NOC. If not, and if NOC 9465 is the right NOC, it is unlikely to fool CIC...
