No Study Permit Visa In My Passport.

I applied paper based visa with VFS. I took an e-mail and it says "Your study permit visa has been approved" but when I collect my passport from VFS office I noticed that there is no paper visa in my passport. When I ask them they told me that I already had valid visitor visa and I didn't need physical visa. Is that true?

I only have "Correspondence Letter" that I received in my cic.gc account. I don't want to encounter problems when I arrive Canada.

Canada does not have a student visa. It has a TRV or eTA, depending on your country of origin.

Since you already have a valid TRV for visitor purposes you don't need another one.

You should have a letter of introduction from Canadian embassy. You should have received it in your CIC GC account or received a letter after your visa approval.

It should look like this

Or just google Canada student visa letter and click on images.

Yes it's fine. BTW you have an eTA which means you are visa exempt and just need Authorization to travel. This why they are allowing you to use your prior eTA.

If you had a TRV they would have issued you a new one.
Thank you:)

If you don't mind I want to ask another question. I applied SW-1 visa because of my program. It has co-op term. Can you check my LIO's second page. It doesn't say Study Permit. It says Work Permit. I should have Study Permit and Work Permit together.

Someone asked the same question as you, don't worry it is all right. SW-1 is classified as a Study permit which allows you to work for your co-op , for whatever reason they write only work permit for the official use. You will be able to study and work for your co-op regardless of what is written there.

All your documents are correct and in order.

Contact with Canada Embassy. I know I man who changed his visa from S1 to SW-1. You should send your passport them again.
When to do this from India or after reaching canada??
I took SW-1 directly in one application.
You can do it in Canada already but if you have a enough time you can change your visa in India too. Mail them and ask. I f you do this in Canada you have to pay Work Permit applying fee.

This is not a big deal. You should have received a letter along with your offer letter which states that co-op is a part of your program etc. You can apply for a co-op work permit later on as well. However don't delay too much as it takes time to process and without this you can't start your co-op.

See this page for more details,

Don't worry this is nothing serious, only thing is you will have to pay money again.

Do it after reaching Canada. I am assuming your co-op will be your last semester. You should have enough time to do it in Canada.
