Hello!
Unfortunately, yesterday my common-law partner received a returned application for my permanent residency.
I sent the application in November 27, 2020. The reason they returned the submission was a missing address on the “Additional Family Information” document.
I have heard advice that it would be enough to print this document anew, fix the mistake, sign it and date it accordingly and send it with all the other documents as they are.
However, after some more research this advice seems inaccurate and it looks like all the documents should be dated with actual date and validated again as “application must be received within 90 days from the date it was signed” and it has been longer already.
If the above is correct, it creates a troublesome situation for me because my status has changed during that unexpectedly longer waiting period for my PR.
I sent a request for restoration of my status in July 29, 2020 and then explained this situation in my PR application (sent in November 2020).
Then in February 15, 2021 my restoration was approved, but only until March 12, 2021. Since March 12 I haven’t done anything about changing this status as I was waiting to receive permanent residency.
I have been in Canada all the time during this process.
Was anyone in a similar situation? Can someone please give me a solution ?
Thank you
