hi everyone
We are 2016 applicant for spousal sponsorship class. We have been waiting for about 16 months. We send emails to VO but there is no answer from them or in my cic account. Recently i received emails to do medical and PC again. The medical is passed but there is no more updates.
What do you think we can do? We also order atips but no answer!

Is there any way to expedite it?

Call your MP office and ask them to contact VO on your behalf.

Our MP's office told us that the only thing they could do was to ask for a status update from IRCC in Ontario. They won't have anything to do with the VO. The only one who we can deal with there is his assistant and she isn't very knowledgeable about the process, telling me that absolutely everyone gets an interview for family sponsorship. Because of this, it is useless to ask her to enquire why we need an interview as it didn't say what their concerns were in our GCMS notes. We have also gone over 12 months with the processing of our app. Hopefully your MP will be more helpful than mine.

my MP in Cambridge Ontario is amazing very efficient is getting clarification, in fact on both occasion the VO did not even bother to respond to my emails until the MP office contacted them and minutes after a received email from VO. I know they cant do anything about application however with them making contacts it forces VO to at least look at the file and brings attention to it at that moment to get things moving along.

Sorry to hear your MP office isn't as helpful hope it is resolved soon.

Thanks! At some point it will be resolved (who knows when), but sadly it won't be because my MP's office (never met the man as we are probably too insignificant for him to get personally involved in our case) went to bat for us.

I totally agree with you, same situation here as well,
But yesterday i sent an email via IRCC web form to the VO,and then they finally answered in less than 24h , although it was not helpful but hopefully there was something.

We got news from our MP's office too after 2 days. We now know our file has been transferred to the visa office in Buenos Aires, where they are supposed to schedule an interview for my partner. No idea how much long that will take. Hopefully they don't have that many applications to deal with. The other thing is how long will it take for them to open our file there??!!

The MP enquiry did actually do some good ... maybe if we didn't make the enquiry, our file would still be collecting dust! Now I just hope when it gets there they will do something in a reasonable amount of time!
