Hello everyone,

We applied on September 1st for my wife living in Pakistan.

We then sent an email with the correct Information on Oct.8th to the new visitor visa process where we can email and let them know to prioritize us.

It has now been 14 days without a response.

What should the next steps be? I am a Canadian citizen.

Ps. We have applied for a Spousal sponsorship, and the purpose of travel has been listed in the TRV.

You need to wait to see if the TRV is granted. TRV is not guaranteed.

So just to add not to confuse the application for a TRV with the Immediate Family travel exception process introduced as a result of COVID they are as I understand it separate processes where the COVID immediate family exception process assumes someone already has a valid travel document (TRV) to enable travel to Canada.
