I hope backlog elimination means processing of all applications in view of fedral court's judgement. So there is stop in accepting new applications. cic staff now will get sufficient time to clear backlogged applications on hold for nine years.

i was planning to aply this year.. but let justice prevail.. i hope things get sorted out and by Jan 2013.. hope things are clear and more accurate..

Lets keep the hope inside and take the announcement in positive way.

More time to gather docs and make it right
More time to improve English and sit on another IELTS for a better result
More time to improve our skills
More time to save more money to prepare worst days in Canada after landing
More time for others....others.....others.....

yes.. agreed more time to sort everything..
but i jst hope tht not many changes are made in the NOC list And the documents to be submitted or else this extra wait time will not yield any results

It s a great Postive move by Canadian Minister to put a pause on New application, and let them clear all the backlogs and let us have a clear picture abt the New Requirement in 6months time.
GOOD LUCK to all
Ashok

You were right Anup,.... what scare me a lot if by Jan 2012, FSW must have job offer, then I'm die...

All my hope will vanish

I hve never looked into Quebec processing.. can anyone give me links to it and give guidance..

Good move by Jason Kennedy!
The back logs will get cleared. This will be good for the applicants planning to apply too
as the processing will be more organised and complete in a set time limit.
Rather than waiting n waiting n unsure about what's goin on!

This probably is the brightest side of the move! It is a win win situation for both we pre-juners and for you all who wanted to apply this year. This, for sure, would streamline the immigration process. Needless to say many more positives have already been mentioned above about this move. All the very best for everyone out here! Cheers!

Unless you are working in Quebec or were educated in Quebec, you are out of luck until at least April 1/2013 http://www.immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/en/immigrate-settle/permanent-workers/index.html

Note: As of July 1, 2012, CIC has temporarily stopped accepting applications for the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP). This temporary pause does not apply to those with a qualifying job offer or applying under the PhD stream. We will likely start accepting applications again when the revised FSWP selection criteria take effect. Proposed FSWP changes should come into force in early 2013.
