Barka de sallah peeps plus congrats to those with one update or the other.....

Still on the credential assessment i would like to know if this is necessary for those not in the regulated profession. Also if your credential is assessed how long is this assessment tenable for.

Am kind of curious to know if this is really necessary if one is not studying or in the regulated profession.

Your feedback pls......Thanks

I don't think you need a transit for the former route but for the later, you will definetely need it

A forum member(either pa awoderu or jackson) shared this(cant remembered the thread page) when many forum members/wives were pregnant n they were comtemplating on wheather to do medical or not:

He said his sister was heavily pregnant when the PPR came, the plan was to land b4 d baby was born unfortunately they were supposed to travel on mon n she put to bed over d wkend.when AVO was informed d VO said d case was closed(but in actual fact, cases are only closed after landing) that they should land without the baby n sponsor the baby later or forfeit their visas.the family decided to forfeit the visa and reapplied now they have landed under the new application.

Considering d above senerio n baring in mind that VOs are very powerful n they can do n undo;
My opinion is that u shld let them know u cant land before the baby is born.
AVO also know u might not be able to land thats y they want to hear from you n they might want to give the limited visa to those that may likely land immediately.
Just be truthful, prayerfull n let them hold on to the visa til u put to bed and add the baby. You wont be denied only a little delay

Congrats to all new PR holder, those who got their QSC

To those waiting; we re nearer the finishing line than when we started, keep hope alive!

Happy holiday

Thank you very much for your advice. They specify in their mail that if we decide to go ahead with the visa, then we need to go right immediately and have the baby in Canada. This is not possible for us since the delivery is so close. We will put it on hold until the baby is born later in the year.

Is there any machine in the airport? or where was this transaction effected?

Thanks

There are two machines immediately outside the airport. I can't remember the Bank that owns it. At the time I didn't know I could use my Nigerian debit cards so I used a Visa Card for a bank account I maintain in the US. Then when I got into town I saw several Ecobank ATMs and decided to try my Nigerian debit card on one of them on Ring road and it gave me Cedis. So if you get there and can't find your Bank ATM at the airport, ask the taxi to stop by at one of the ATMs in town, draw your money and continue with your trip. The airport is just about 15 mins drive from the embassy.

One of the ATMs at the airport is a GTBank ATM, try to draw as much as you need once (if possible) you get charged an extra N1000 or there about for each withdrawal

I don't understan your question visa how?
We did our medicals in march 2010 and they give you ur visa a few months before your medical exam expires 1 year duration,
Well we left march 8 2011 it was a teusday if I remember we went with KLM
Left nigeria around 11pm landed about 5pm the next flight was not until 4pm in the afternoon , after findin a place to lounge and eat my family waited for hours till 4 then the long flight to canada 8 hrs 30mins or so it was winter. After we landed we followed the long queue to immigrations, and they asked us a few questions, checked our documents then led us to a room, the parents were the ones asked questions, they gave us freebies and books 5 in all. Then welcomed us, we then went to clear our lugages we had 10 pieces. 2 lugages per person, then paid 25 dollars to the trolly man for 2 trollys. Luckyly for us a friend of ours came al d way from US to pick us up, with his church bus. When I stepped out o my, the cold is exactly like that of a deep freezer, it was soi horrible. It was like a slap in the face I never imagined, anywaiz the drive to windsor was 6hours. We initally chose windsor cause our nearby friends in US offered us a free house. (Although we later moved to toronto 3 weeks after another story for another day). The cold was superb, I had been to uk before but canada was unlike. The airport was so beautiful, the place was so neat and peaceful, white people around they mind their business etc, we connected with redeem people as that's our chucrch in nigeria. And they were so nice offering rides to get our things like clots and pots although we bought some of those things from nigeria including soap, pots and what not, anyways the next couple of days we went to register our names for something can't remember think it was SIN related as I was a spectator my parents were in charge of all this, then we joined the newcomers to canada group. My hand hurts right now I have to stop here.....wish you all the best.
