Hi respected members,


I am writing here on the delay on my Citizenship Application applied online. I gave my test on citizenship on February 25 2022, It's been more than 7 months after the test, I have not been invited for Oath ceremony yet. All other events are completed. Please see the timeline below;


Jun 28, 2022. Physical presence activity completed
Jun 28, 2022 Language skills status has been updated to Completed
Jun 28, 2022 Prohibitions status has been updated to Completed
Feb 15, 2022 Citizenship test status has been updated to Completed
Feb 11, 2022 You've been scheduled to take citizenship test online between February 11, 2022 and March 3, 2022. Information and instructions will be sent to you.
Feb 8, 2022 Background verification status has been updated to Completed
Feb 7, 2022 Citizenship test status has been updated to In progress
Sep 8, 2021 AOR



I emailed the Niagara falls Office they replied;

Please be advised that your application is currently waiting for confirmation from our partners to verify that the applicant has complied with the conditions placed at the time of permanent residence. As such, your application processing cannot move forward until this information is confirmed and validated.


Please advice What can i do to expediate this. I am already late to have the oath?

What confirmation are they looking for, considering that they already updated and completed all your application? This is really weird

How was the oath?

A much more positive and touching experience than I had expected, especially after a long, rough wait to get the oath invite! I wrote more details here:

Also just received the certificate in the mail today and quite grateful to have waited less time than many others in slower offices. Niagara Falls was too slow to schedule my oath, but the oath itself and receiving the certificate were surprisingly efficient.

That's great to hear, congrats! My application was only updated to "closed" yesterday (Thursday the 22nd). How long was it between application closed and receiving the certificate?

My application was updated to Closed the day after (September 15), so 7 days. Let us know when you receive yours!

Any Niagara Falls Sep 13, 2022 oath candidates still waiting for citizenship certificate?
I know Niagara Falls sending (plus received) certificates to candidates who had their oath Sept 14 or later.

IRCC works in mysterious ways. They want to keep this process frustrating till the very end, lest we forget.

On a side note, going through this entire circus of a saga I wonder what the job adverts for IRCC positions say - "Hiring disorganized baboons; Diligent people may not apply. Our Motto: Relax it's IRCC, there's always next year or the next decade."

A quick question, after Oath we didnt receive any email requesting for Affirmation form. We replied to the same email in which we received the Oath invite, is that fine and got a auto response. Is that fine?

Yes, the reply email matched the specified `reply email` on the oath affirmation form - at least did for me with the Niagara Falls office oath.

Did you get an auto-response email after you sent the oath form? I didn't get any reply. Which office was your oath with?

Yes got a automated/template response, that your email is received and the mailbox is monitored only for Citizenship related stuff ... Mine is Niagra Falls.

Not sure what's going on. Neither did I get any automated response nor the certificate. While people on later oath dates have received it from NGF office already, my file hasn't even been closed yet. Sent them an email today asking about this.
IRCC just being random as usual - maybe they just pick a few emails from the top of the stack everyday and forget the rest.

My spouse's oath ceremony was today 9/27 with NGF office too - same clerk, same judge, same time. Sent the oath form for that right after the zoom meeting. No auto-response received so far for that as well.

Hmm I don't know if it varies by which agent checked you in.
Also, after my ceremony on Sept 14, I received a "Instructions for Post Ceremony Administration" email that the clerk had said at the end that we would receive. That email came from a different email address from the invitation email and the email printed in the PDF invite. I replied to the post ceremony email and also CC-ed the address of the oath invite with my signed oath form and received auto-responses from both email addresses. I wonder if those who emailed only one or the other might have gotten delayed?

On today's 9/27 NGF office oath for my spouse there was no mention of "Instructions for Post Ceremony Administration" and neither on 9/13 oath for me with NGF.
We sent oath forms to the email address mentioned on the oath form itself, which matched the email the oath invitation came from.

There is one difference though: My oath invitation and oath form had email with the words 'Scheduling-01' in it while my spouse has 'Scheduling-06'. Apart from the number, everything else in the email address is the exact same.
