Hey Guys, I have question if you can answer it, i will appreciate it!
I read in some website that Canadian PR holder can apply for NEXUS card! and also it say if you are work permit/student Holder you need to provide that document! So does it mean if you are a work permit holder, you are eligible to apply for NEXUS card?
Thank You?

What is nexus card ?

It is for people who travel frequently between US-Canada by road and do not want to wait for longer time at border. They have seperate queue.

You must be a PR or citizen to apply. Work permit / study permit holders do not qualify.

Thanks scylla, if you have PR, Do you need a us visa to apply for NEXUS?

Having Canadian PR is irrelevant. What matter is what passport you hold. Your passport determines if you need a visa to enter the US or not.

If you need a visa to enter the US based on your passport then you don't qualify for Nexus.

So if you needed a visa to enter the US before you became a Canadian PR - then you still need a visa to enter the US now. And you also do not qualify to apply for a Nexus card.

After becoming PR, can a indian apply for nexus card or need to apply for visa ?

No - you cannot apply for a Nexus card. You don't qualify.

Yes - you need to apply for a visa to visit the US.

This will only change when you become a Canadian citizen and get a Canadian passport.

No cylla, thats wrong answer!
I checked their website, it says any one hold a Canadian PR is Eligible to apply for Nexus Card! so You dont need a Canadian citizen.

Maybe the rules have changed since I applied. (That would be good news for many.) I will look again tonight.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the NEXUS, you must be a citizen or permanent resident of Canada or the United States.

Effective June 30, 2012, Canadian and American citizens living outside of Canada or the United States or who have recently returned to either country and have not previously been able to meet the three-year residency requirement are now eligible to apply.

Is this card useful to travel between Canada and US

Can a person having nexus card travel from UAE or India to US?
