Above is the link to the nexus program for travel between the US/Canada. I am just wondering if anyone knows how this applies to individuals who are permanent residents of Canada, but their native passports are from countries that require a visa to get into the states.

Any information would be appreciated!

Cheers :)

I just got my Nexus card in February. I asked the CBP person if permanent residents can apply. She responded directly by saying: Absolutely!

Hey costaudjoe, Do you have to have a us visa to apply for Nexus even though you have Canadian PR?

If you look at Step 3 number 2. It looks like you don't need a visa. You will need however proof of residence in Canada.

As long as you have valid Canadian PR status, Nexus happily takes anybody's money no matter what your citizenship is.

Unless they are under the age of 18 then it's free.

Although on second thoughts, perhaps citizens of terrorist-harboring countries might not get in to the USA even if they have valid Canadian PR status.

Thanks for all of this great information!
