Hi,

I'm trying to apply for nexus card. In the application, it asks for an 8 digit pr card number.
The PR card has only 10 digit document number (UCI) or PR number which is 2 letters and 7 digits. I'm not sure which number to add for Canadian PR.

Has someone with a PR recently applied for nexus?

The PR card number is listed on the backside of the card. Its not the same as uci.

I have the same question. There is some error on the site, it says Canadian PR on top but it is actually expecting a US green card number. Canadian PR number is more than 8 digits. How do you get around this

Hi guys,
did anyone applied the nexus card ?
how did you entered 8 digit number where as in PR card, we only have 7 digit ?

I have raised a ticket and called the CBP to escalate this. Altough this is escalated, they mentioned it would take several weeks to get response. In another thread I found some people filled up UCI# but not sure whether their application was approved. If anyone has any clue please let us know

Hi.I need clarity on the below. I’ve been a Canadian permanent resident since January 2022, but I’ve held a work permit and living in Canada since September 2019. Am I eligible to apply for Nexus, or do I need to be a permanent resident for three years first?

If you are a permanent resident, you must have been a legal resident of Canada or the U.S. for at least 3 years before applying. You are exempt from the 3-year residency rule if you are:
  • serving in the American armed forces in a foreign country
  • a family member of a person serving in:
    • the Canadian or American armed forces in a foreign country, or
    • a Canadian or American diplomatic mission or consular post in a foreign country

You lived in Canada for more than 3 years. So I think you can apply but if you will be approved or not, it's up to CBSA and US custom.

thank you! also can I apply for my child’s Nexus without a Canadian Passport? We only have the Canadian birth certificate which we use to enter the US via car.

I don't think you can apply for Nexus without a passport. May be get a passport for you child first.

If you look at the bottom of your PRCard, it starts withCACAN and then the string you see is exactly same as string you have at top right corner of the back of PR card. For example at top corner it is PD1234567 but at bottom it will be CACANPD12345678. There it will be 8 digits.
