I'm wandering about how long a person landed in Canada is called a newcomer?
Is it one year or till he becomes a Canadian citizen?
I'm asking a just I'm curious about it.

Being in Canada for a certain period of time does not get you Canadian citizenship. You have to apply and pass the test. Before you apply, you have to have lived in Canada for 3 years. The application process take about 12-18 months after that.
