Hi everyone....things are going good for hubby and I. He is settling in well. I have him driving me all over the city and enjoying the passenger side but I feel like a backseat driver most times with giving directions. he thinks Toronto is very big. Tomorrow he starts working for an auto body place so we're pretty excited. I hope it goes well.

Glad to see people moving up the line. Maybe this year there won't be no summer slow down. GOOOOOO KGN!!!!!

Lilmaya - with regards to YWCA. My hubby went to see what they offered and they really push taking all the courses, especially the ones to create a resume. hubby took the computer basics course and met with a counsellor. He had a resume and she said it should be 2-3 pages and we disagreed so didn't make the changes. then they signed him up for all these courses and told him to look through this employer directory and send out resumes or make inquiry calls. Once he showed effort in all these areas they would assist him with finding work through some of their contacts. It seemed a bit more geared towards someone looking for office type work vs trade/labour. I am sure each area may do it a bit different but this was our experience at Finch/Dufferin.

Wish I had more time to really read through and see whats up. But congrats to those with updates......and those whose hubbies are settling in well!! To those still waiting...good luck. A bit MIA due to internet issues plus I have my inlaws here, plus my parents as well and some of my hubby's siblings plus one of their friends. My daughters in spoiled child heaven...and this place is family reunion style chaos. But lots of good food and laughter.

I feel truly blessed right now that my family and my inlaws are all one big natural family that is easy going around each other and completely at ease. There is no cultural barrier issues!! Such different worlds in so many ways...but it goes to prove that cultural differences aside...love can really unite people of all walks of life.

Anyways I miss you all and hope to soon be on here more. Good luck to everyone till then!! xx

Thanks for the info Kedeisha and togirl2011. Glad to hear hubby is settling in nicely and hope first day of work goes well today!

Lonely Wifey: Did his police report expire already? Sounds like everything will be ready to go in a couple weeks. I tried to watch the forum to see which courier was faster as Sanchester and Togirl sent theirs off at the same time with different couriers. Sanchester got her's back first... so we used DHL. (Not very scientific ... i know) Whether that was a KNG delay or a courier delay... DHL won in my mind. I don't know the difference in price.

Hehehe I'm learning to do my daughters hair so when my lovely local hair dresser that does my daughters hair every week is no longer available...aka we are in Canada haha...I can do my babies hair if there is nobody close by with those skills. I did her hair in this picture....judge my skills lightly friends...hehe its a work in progress!!

Quiet weekend on the forum must mean busy weekend for all!

We had a very busy weekend. Saturday we went to the Caribana parade and Sunday to church, the airport to send my mother off and then to a BBQ. Today my husband worked for a bit so I spent some time with my girls from Calgary at the Harbourfront. It was a beautiful but busy weekend and I'm so relieved to see a short work week ahead!

I hope everyone enjoyed themselves this long weekend and are ready for an exciting week of updates and landing stories!!!
