Hi Ladies,

Glad to see everyone in good spirits and conversation flowing!!

I totally relate to everyone of your stories from going to JA and becoming addicted to the culture, vibez and men or I should say.. my MAN :-[ to having problems with family and friends for the choices that I have made in my life regarding my husband.

I loved to travel from when I was lil bit, I didnt go to JA until 2007. Before that I travelled all over, mexico, trindad, tobego, cuba, italy, ireland, america etc etc.... but when I went to JA I loved the music, the culture, the fact that they spoke english (sorta lol) and there is something pure and beautiful about the people there... majority seem not to be all caught up in vanity.

I also struggled telling my family and friends that I had secretly travelling to JA about 6 times a year for the past few years when I decided to tell them that I was getting married. Woops.... did I forget to tell everyone that I had madly fallen in love... Looks so........ Why? Because I knew the reaction i was going to get. I invited my closest friends and family members to my wedding that was taking place 4 months and told them to trust me with my decision - after a few months of batteling with them all, they all decided that they would prefer to keep a daughter/sister/neice/friend than to not... they all showed up, fell in love with my husband, and now...... after a year and a half of him being here in Canada, make it seem like it was their idea..... it did take over 2 years for them to finally admit that I made the right decision.... BUT it all worked out in the end....

I met a lot of people from the forum one day, when we had a forum family get together.. and I have kept in touch with quite a few... Its funny how people come in to your lives. I hope you ladies and gents build some great friendships through this forum also... we are able to build a special bond through this process with other people going through the same situation.

Looks like we might be in need of another family get together.

I am in downtown Toronto.... :)

Loved reading all your stories....

Nice reading everyone's story.. sure the wife was loving it. I like how shes trying to make me look bad on here too. lol
I think everyone who's live here before knows how people's mind operate. They see you with a white woman and their first assumption is that you're a gigolo and she's only here for a good time so yea that made me a lil hesitant and first.
Marriage is a learning cure though so over time i learnt noone but me controls my happiness so i stop caring what people think.

hi Kc how is baby tia doing

kc416: It is great to be able to see you on your here with your husband and new little angel and give us that reminder that you too were here at one time and you made it!! I think a lot of your loved ones who look at the road you are about to venture on and do not want to see you struggle but once they are able to see the love of you and your spouse and understand why you made the choices you did, it's like a huge weight of your shoulders.

Seems like a pretty big Ontario connect we have going on here... Irving might have to make a trip out here... maybe Caribana time :)

lilmaya, Ill be staying for 13 days! Im so excited! We will be in mobay for the first few days as he has to wrk til sun, and then in negril til friday, back to mobay til i leave on wed. It will be so nice to visit with my mother in law, and hopefully help with some household chores ect. It seems i never get much time with her. Hey, I have a small problem..hopefully someone can help.

I lived in the US for a bit when I was about seventeen or eighteen....as I'm a born and raised Canadian but have my US citizenship as well through my mom. The forms ask if you've lived in other countries, so yes. But I have no way of remembering or knowing the addresses I lived at while I was there. I was just a young kid hopping around, and I did not have a cell phone at the time.

What the heck should I put.

I'm getting so crazy with nerves...I'm almost done....eeeek!! Today I went and changed my healthcare card to my married name as well as my SIN.

This is what I have so far in my package:

- My husbands forms...and nearly done mine.
-My husbands school records, bank account records to help show hes working, all his stuff like police record and medical and photos.
- I have a ton of photos of our life
- I have a whole heap of letters from my friends, my siblings, I have some amazing letters from my parents stating their love for my husband and how they will support us settling in here and help in anyway possible, letters from his family members, letters from people like our doctor and stuff and our landlord and neighbours in Jamaica/
- Job confirmation for the job I have waiting for me in Canada
-confirmation of the job I work at now, and a job confirmation for the job my husband has waiting for him her.
-Pictures of where we will be staying when we first arrive, as well as the 2003 vehicle we have to drive until we can one for ourselves after arriving and settling.
- A structured plan with letters of support to prove there are others involved with helping us settle.
- My parents letters of offered support to help us settle, as well as a personal letter stating their views on our marriage are all signed and witnessed by their lawyer.
-The job offers from their company are legal documents with the company seal, witnessed by their lawyers.

Am I missing anything??? I'm so scared I'm forgetting about something. I also have originals and a copy of all our birth certificates and marriage licence as well as copies of our passport front page. I also have copies of the pages of my passport showing all my trips and my residency stamp for Jamaica.

jahbee you inbox full cant repy to ur msg, delete girl

smoothiesqueen... looks like you got pretty much everything....

I know you were not able to get phone bills from your provider but are you gonna send emails, chatlogs.

Do you have any postcards, letters that you guys sent to each other.

You can also include western union transaction if you ever supported him financially before being in Jamaica.

Not sure if you want to include boarding passes, receipts from trips (hotels, restaurants, activities you guy did together) I know you guys live together and you probably have lots but I'm just throwing ideas out there cause those are things I included and I didn't see you mentioned....

You can also included receipts of wedding costs.

I think this pretty much covers it... Also make sure you check the check list at the front of both application to make sure you are not forgetting any pieces...

Good luck! ;D

Good morning guys, SmoothiesQueen you are so well prepared, wish you all they best, they couldn't ask for nothing more.

Amen.

Theres an update on the other forum...!

Thank you for that Jahlove, having a very hard time today dealing with it.........

Morning everyone,

Lonely_wife...yes I forgot to add that in. I do have a few emails and whatnot...although we talked on the phone and text mostly. I also have some of my flight iternaries and the reciepts from my wedding getting sent in. I also have the flight itineraries from a bunch of my family members and parents showing all the many flights they have taken to come see us...supplimented by picture proof.

The thing is....when you in a genuine marriage...you get it in your head that nobody could ever doubt that. But then you have to think like an IO and say...ok these people don't know us, so how can we prove it. The loss of the phone records and the speed of our marriage did present a problem in thinking of how to replace that evidence with other things. Our married life can be better proved than our dating life...but I'm feeling confident now that we've pulled together a good package...and trying to keep it in control as not to overwhelm an IO with stuff!! One more day until I'm filing so I'm working like a mad woman, knowing that I can possibly take one extra day if I have to for touch ups!!
