Irving : Now how on earth do you have a 17 year old!!! You must have had her when you were 10 too!! My girls are keeping it young and fresh!! It is not always easy having a teenager adjusting to a new step-father. That is wonderful to hear that they get along so well! You did good!!

ahhhhh nice pics ladies......well I have a 19 uyear old daughter and a 13 year old son and my hubby loves them too death..... Blended families can be a challenge but communication is the key. I am so determined to do whatever it takes to make sure we are all happy!

OMG... by looking at the pictures... I thought we are all close in age lol... I am 24... Looks like all you ladies look young and fresh as it was mentionned before... please gimme the secret as I have a fear of aging lol hahahahahahaha

Thanks to both of you..

He's going to be 11 on the 13th...

Oh i Know..I already know we will experience challenges blending our family.. but my husband has been so wonderful and understanding about the different stages of adjusting.

I feel so blessed to have my husband. He amazes me. When we first started dating my co-worker who is married to a Jamaican man - she use to say to me...
" Gaza whitey, if you wanted to date a jamaican, toronto has 250,000 of them. I just looked at her and said, "yah, hi... I didnt go to Jamaica to find a man and if it was up to me I would have chosen a man that lived in the same city"

My husband is some special. I've never met a man with his patience and heart. I know you all think your hubbys are the best... but sorry to say.. mine probably taught yours on how to be the best...lol.

Just jokkkking...
or am i??

k... i am.. maybe.

Lonely the secret is "you are a young as you feel"...lol Also get you a nice loving Jamaican man!!!!lol

Sanchester.. you're too funny girl!!! I can't say my hubby taught yours cause he is younger ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR lol but mine learned it somewhere cause he is a sweetheart and he is very special to me :P

thanks!!!! well ill keep working on the first part ladyposh... and the second one well its definatly already done...

Gaza Whitey: If your husband is the teacher of being special... then my husband is the teacher who teaches the teachers. BAM!!

When you involve a new man in a childs life, it can definitely be challenging.. no matter what age they are at. I never thought I'd meet anyone that could live up to the standards I have for my son. I would have stayed single for the rest of my life rather than bring someone around my son who didn't deserve to be there. When you find someone who not only measures up but exceeds the expectations you set for a role model for your child, you gotta put a ring on it!!

As for going to JA to find a husband, some people... why would anyone want to shoose this path, it's divine destiny.. and we are so blessed the universe brought us to the person we were meant to share our lives with, and there after!

Well thank you ladies for making what started out as a crappy day into a great evening. I really do feel very blessed to have this forum during one of the toughest things I've gone through. Even with my friends sometimes I feel alone because this immigration stuff is all I can think about. I can't plan.. i can't think about the future past today because I don't know when my family will be together. I feel like on here I know I'm talking to people who understand and won't be annoyed by my constant whining!! LOL. And now that I can put a face to the posts, I feel even closer to you guys.

Goodnight forum fam :-*
