Hi there. I've been trying to read thru the information already supplied but getting a bit confused with all the posts.

My specific situation is this -

I have received my LOA to study a two yr Programme in Ontario and have almost completed my application for study permit. That part is fairly straight forward! However, my husband is coming with me and although we will be supported by family in southwestern ontario, he wants to work. We'd like to make his application for an open work permit at same time i apply for study permit. As British Citizens, I have been told we don't need a TRV.

Question - what form does he complete. Is it IMM1259 (application for work permit) or is there a different one for spouses?

Another point for us is - neither of us have contact with some family members and as such we are not sure if the info we have is accurate. should we put 'unknown', 'unsure' on the application form, or should we enter what we think is the answer but send a letter explaining the situation????

Hope I have made sense here. My Application needs to go ASAP so accurate info would be apprecaited.

Many thanks

Use the general work permit application form but checkmark open work permit.

As for whatever you aren't sure of, answer all of them with "see attached" and in the attached letter, you explain why you don't know what you don't know and what you think is the answer.

Thanks for the speedy reply Leon. I'll get that form uploaded and hopefully get everything posted by end of week. College starts on 6th september so hope London office are quick.

By the way, I noticed a posting about 'statements for the visa officer'. Will i need to do one of those too??
