New UCI Number in Request Letter

I got request from CIC to submit PCC where I noticed that my UCI number got changed.. I called CIC customer care they told that the new UCI number is inter linked to existing UCI number (which is in work permit).. I heard that UCI number won't change at all but why it for me..
Any body faced this kind situation?

My UCI number also changed today.
I dont know why.
I asked them and lady told me she can not tell that.
