Hello all.

Am new to the process here and am looking for some insight. Here's a little about my situation:

My partner and I are looking into having me immigrate to Canada from the US. We are planning on getting married in 6 months, and will start the ball rolling on the paperwork and process of getting me my PRV.

Are there any tips or insight that any of you could offer that may help me in my process, or could help expedite the process?

Thanks,

~northwardbound

Make sure you submit all the forms the first time. From reading the board, it sounds like the major cause of delay is people don't submit all the required documents the first time.

and start collecting as much proof of your relationship as possible

Thanks all :) Have been saving travel documents (airline tickets, bus tickets, and various other reciepts vouching for travel) What other forms would I need to keep track of verifying our relationship? Any sugguestions?

Reciepts of outings, photos, emails, phone records, chat logs, anything that can tie you to together as a couple or spending time 2gether.

Also, when you apply, if at all possible, pay all the fees upfront. You have the option to pay half later, but it always causes extra delays with processing.

Takes lots of photos of you two together, especially on any visits to family. That way you'll have lots to choose from when deciding what to send in.

And don't forget, you can do pretty much everything before you get married. You can prepare all the forms, put together all the evidence and then after you add a marriage certificate to it, just send it all in.
I figured it won't take much time and then I ended up spending 4 months after the wedding dealing with it all before even submitting the application xD
