Hi All,

I am completely new to the immigration process to Canada. I have been reading a few posts here and there for the last 2 days . But I have strongly decided upon migrating to Canada , now. I have a million questions in my mind . Dont know where to start. But here's a list of few that I have in my mind..

1. The reason I have selected Canada to migrate is , it looked a little easy to obtain a Candian PR than any other country , am I right ?

2. I had worked in Ireland for an year but all the formalities work permit etc were taken care by company , so had nothing to do except getting all documents together. If had to do it Canada all onmy own is it possible ?

3. I heard French language skills are very iomportant to migrate to Canada , is it true?

4. I am a software Test engineer with 4 years of exp , with Good domain knowledge on GPOn networks and OSS Network systems. Are any of these skills in demand in Canada. Will I be able to find a Job?

5. Do I need to have a job offer to apply for Candian PR?

6.How long does it usually take to process a PR ?

7.How much does it cost me to apply and get my PR processed ?

8. What are the different stages in applying for a PR ?

9. My wife and me, both are Masters Degree holders from Indian universities.will this help in getting PR?
10. I have heard about this 100 point funda top be elgible fror a PR , whats all this about ?

11. Which is easier , apply on my own or approach a consultancy?

Thats all for now ...will post more later

Somebody please help me with all my questions.

thanks a lot ....

Hi gokulkris1 ,

Please check below the reply for your questions:

1. In my opinion, it depend on each individual choice. For me Canada is a better choice.

2. There are different ways through which you can immigrate to Canada. Check below the website to learn about it:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/index.asp

3. As Canadian immigration is point based system and minimum points for immigration is 67. So French language can give you some additional points if you attempt the French language exam and if you are immigrating to Quebec then it is must for you to pass this exam.

4. You can check the below link if your occupation is listed in that page:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/complete-applications.asp
If your occupation is not listed in that list then you can try for arrange employment. You can get job in Canada but it take some time.

5. No. If you are applying under Federal Skilled Worker category then you do not need to apply for a job but if you are applying under Arranged Employment Category then you need to have a Job in order to get Canadian PR.

6. You can check the below link in order to know about the total timeframe for getting Canadian PR under different categories:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/index.asp

7. Check the below link to know in detail about the cost of PR process.
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/fees/index.asp

8. Check the below link in order to understand the complete process:
http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/-t36571.0.html

9. Yes. You will get some additional points.

10. I have no Idea about it.

11. You should apply at your own. If you need any kind of help then post you queries on this forum. There are many people who can guide you.

Best of luck.

Regards,

Sunny
