Hello and good day,

I am a newcomer in Canada. I, along with my family, arrived in Canada on August 28 this year and have settled in Quebec.
I am planning to apply for family allowance, however, as I have not filed any income tax return for the previous fiscal year and I do not have Notice of Assessment, so should I wait for next year before filing the tax return or I can do it right now?

Can anyone guide me in this aspect.

Thank you,

You will have to show proof of your international income for the past 1-2 years to determine what level of benefits your family qualifies for.
