New pr looking for investment options in Vancouver

so I’m landing in a few weeks. I want to start my own thing instead of looking for a job and working for someone. I was thinking about franchising a cafe or restaurant such as Boston pizza or even a dollar shop. I don’t have too much cash, just 70k cad. I was wondering if this amount is enough and if someone can lead me in the right direction as where to start or a contact to call etc. thanks

70k probably wont get you as far as you think. If you can get financing through someone like BDC you might be able to leverage that up to a value of around $250k, which still wont get you much, especially in Vancouver. Boston Pizza is a very expensive franchise to get and dollar shop probably even more. Prob need a mill plus to really make a dent in that.
Might have to set your sights on something a little less ambitious I think.
