New PR card

Hey guys, I need your expertise and kind help.

I want to know when they start counting your PR status in Canada? Is it from the day of your medicals or the day you enter Canada? I'm planning to go there but want to be back to my home country witching a week? What's your advice on that?

Your PR days count start from when you land. Once you land in Canada the expiry of your medical exams don't matter anymore. If you need to leave then you can, but you won't have your PR card. You will have to apply for a PRTD or be from a visa exempt country and have your COPR on you when you come back so CBSA can check you in the system. Finally if you know you will be outside Canada for a while you can get someone to mail your PR card from Canada to you, but I personally don't like this method

Hello guys,

I landed on 18 july 2015 and was told that my photos have been rejected in Oct and I have to resend photos according to specs mentioned. I sent new photos according to mentioned specs and it was received by end of oct and yet i havent received my card.

When i call them, they say that they dnt have any news yet and I have to wait. Its been 2.5 months since they received photos(Their system doesnt contain this info but my courier company shows they received it)

I heard that pr card design has changed and on the website now there are even new specs (different than the photo specs that was received in the letter).

We are on the same boat. That's what exactly happened to our pr cards and up to now, we haven't received them. I called the service centre twice and they said the system isn't updated yet so she can't tell the current status of the cards, she said we have to bear and wait till the delivery. But she said that the cards were already approved.

Have you got any news? I'm just worried if they were sent to the wrong address or something. Been 2 months already since the photos were received.

What should I do? any advice? Can i lodge a case enquiry some how. If yes, how?

Yes, like i said we have the same situation. According to courier, cic received my photos october 28 last year. But until now, i haven't received the pr cards. Did you try calling the cic service centre for any updates or follow ups?

anybody else,, any advice as to what I should do? the call centre agent says she cant send a note to the office. How else can I escalate the issue?

I have the same case also, I landed on 25th of July and they asked for new photos on October(Old ones do not meet specifications).

They received new photos in 1st of November, and till now no news for PR card.

I called CIC and they told me that I have to wait(Just wait).

I advice everyone to call cic and ask for update or else they will ask you to apply for a new one.

they can't do anything..all they say is you have to wait..

i am really unsure what we should do at this point.

guys please update once the cards are received so that we have an idea of what is going on with our cases. I just read on the forum that a guy got a photo request in jan and his cards were received after 15 days.

Has anyone who has landed successfully used a UPS address for the receipt of their PR Card? By getting a UPS Mailbox, you get a real street address, not a PO Box number.

I landed Oct-1, called CIC couple of weeks ago, and they said it'll be done by end of the month. What I don't understand was, the way she handled the call. As usual, I waited for 10-15 mins. and as soon as she came online, before even asking for my UCI/ or anything, she just said, yes we will mail your card by end of the month.

I kept wondering how she determined who I was and how she knew my card will be delivered by end of the month.
