i have read in Tribune that 1st May onwards, Canadian Govt is issuing new list for 38 occupations.
is it true?

Hi, Yeh it's true that CIC is going to revise the occupation list. But what the changes they r going to be made and when this revised list will be out, nobody knows....

From Page Number 31,

Note: For the IELTS reading and writing tests, there are ‘General Training' and ‘Academic' options. CIC
only requires to have their proficiency assessed by the ‘General Training' test but will also accept the
results of the ‘Academic' test. .

You must take IELTS before applying Canada PR.

From Page Number 37,

For applications received on or after April 10, 2010, at the
CIO, do not offer the applicant the opportunity to undergo
and submit the results of a designated language test

You must take IELTS exam before applying to sydney. I am no sure about submission of IELTS. You may submit IELTS original result to local embassy, But it is compulsory to have IELTS result to get exacy language point before applying

what i do I have dispatched my application on 19th march but still it has not been recieved by Canadain Immigration Intake office.
Will new rule apply to me if my application handed over after 10th April?

There are 2 matter in this thread...

First one, It is true, IELTS Academic is accepted now, will help you to get Language ability point.

Second one created a lot of confusion to all, even to me, That sentence was for written submission. From 10th April, 2010, Embassy will give you only one option, either IELTS or written submission. If your performance is not good in written submission, they will not ask you to take IELTS Result and will put 0 point.

It is false that you must take IELTS before applying....
It is mandatory but not compulsory.

I chat with senior member to remove my confusion.....

I have initialy submitted my application to canadian immigration as mentioned on 19th march dut due to Canadain customs delay , i am afraid rules will affect me is changed?

There should not be any confusion. I have read it thoroughly - Previous of visa officer at local high commision felt after reviewing IELTS results that Candidate does not meet the language proficiency as claimed in initial application to CIO, but has higher scores than min benchmark of 4 than he would write back to applicant and ask him to go through another IELTS test. BUT now there`s only one chance for all ap;licants on or after 10th april-10. If ur IELTS scores do not match ur claim than u will not be given another chance.

If you are still scoring 67 with your IELT 6.5 then nothing to worry about your application.

my wife has same as mine.
i think my score may be like this

experince 23
age 10
wife 4
Ilets 10

toatl becose 68


my current ilets is
L 2, R-2,-W-4,-S-4 = 12 points, but i have tick all high in my application sent on 19th March which is still not recieved by Canadian Intake office. (stuck in customs)
