Hi all;
I applied for my husband's sponsorship on 24th February 2010.I'm a Canadian citizen and I'm currently studying in Canada.They start processing my case since 30th March 2010.My Processing office is Damascus,Syria.Today I received an email which asks for;

- Please complete the attached residency questionnaire with your sponsor/ wife.

- Copy of your sponsor's passport (Iranian) in which showing all entry and exit stamps.

They gave me 45 days to send the documents.I am really confused it is been 7 months since the date I submitted my file and now they ask for extra documents.Does anyone have the same situation and I wonder if this request will postpone the application processing time.In the website they mentioned processing time for Damascus is maximum of 8 months.Thank you for your helps it is really appreciated.
Regards

Yes, it's all routine and the way it goes. They can request documents any time during the process. In my case they requested additional documents 2 days shy of 7 months after they received my application.

I would check again where it says a maximum processing time... 've only ever seenthe breakdown on how long it takes to complete 30%, 50%, 80% of the applications on the main immigration website and then at the VO website it gives an approximate processing time. I've not seen anywhere ever where it gives a maximum processing time and it seem unlikely any office would commit to one.

If they said approximately 8 months and you're at 7 months then looks like you'll probably be over the average but doesn't mean anything in respect to whether you will be approved or not.
