Hello!!
I've been planning to visit Canada from the US as a digital nomad, entering as a visitor and requesting a Visitor Record (then hoping to extend, but prepared to leave after the initial period if denied). However, the restrictions were recently tightened and I'm concerned that I face a high chance of refusal at the border.
Many thanks in advance!!!
Warm Regards,
Charlene

- I can prove that 100% of my clients are US-based via contracts, financial documents, etc. My income is more than enough to support myself.
- I am planning to buy a ticket back to the US dated 6 months later to show my willingness to depart if that's all the time I get.
- Proving income beyond my contracts. My liquidity will be diminished getting myself there, renting a place to stay, etc.
- A 12-month lease being a red flag. Instead of showing stability, this might be highly scrutinized under the new rules. I just submitted a lease application yesterday.
- Moving my belongings. If I have to leave I am planning to stay on the east coast of the US near the border (I'm coming from the west coast); however, this now seems like something that might be flagged. I'll also be travelling with my cat.
Many thanks in advance!!!
Warm Regards,
Charlene
