not clear but sounds like you called ircc and spoke to an agent! You cannot talk to a Visa Officer unless there is an interview.
As I wrote be4 agents are all diff. Some are more experienced/seniors to others and reveal more info like a GCMS notes would; others said " Even we dont know how the system works" I was told long time ago that file is marked for NDVO , other "Please relax, U R well within the time limit of 1 year" So we can't depend 100% on phone answers. What is your time line as 1 on left shows 2014! before we guess something ?

Applied june 8
Interview march 14- Visa officer told me at the end of interview that she will give dm by following week. So far no updates.
Today - I called cic Automated system to check status. Didn't speak with anyone just automated system.
Earlier it used to say background in process, even in GCKey notes it said the same.
But in automated system, today they updated "review of background check has not been started yet".
Thats what I wanted to know if someone knows what is this?
Like they now started BGC after interview?
Doc you are June applicant. They will surely move file by the end of April. We are JULY so may be Late MAY or early JUNE as I am 100% sure that they move some files for further reviews in a diff section, just like pulling out a guy from big lineup and holding him for Qs etc.. We are pulled out sadly

Now if it was a refusal case then it was unlikely to restart BGC. Remember initial BGC does start rt in Canada but final /real background if started by V/office= V good sign . PPR is right after this check by NDVO. So keep fingers x-ed. Good Luck
Ok Hopefully it happens soon. I just hate that visa officer so much now. Knowing that application is in regular process after interview, me n my husband we could have planned a vacation or something when I went to India. But instead we stayed at home for 3 weeks waiting for email or update because she said she will update it next week.Thanks 4 details

Sadly the system is very slow for few But pretty fast for some lucky ones. I understand your frustrations. Many ppl in the past have misused the system too, that's why they became more strict /vigilant. Gone are the days when sponsor would write few lines on a simple pc of paper fill out few forms , pay fees and >>Applicant reached here in Canada in a matter of 3-4 months>>WITHOUT MARRIAGE/no photos attached no BS long explanations
That was the same dept too !! Who made them such? ppl who misused and are still doing it>>AND they are becoming more and more vigilant..
Our file is sitting in a diff room>Call it a DARK room/storage room/back room /silent room. Pulled out for doubts or Qs. Interview is coming 4 sure I guess. Rest only God knows
God knows how this office is working. Literally what I saw and experienced, I have zero faith in them. I am amazed at their intelligence to judge who is genuine who is not.
Fully Agree with you. Fakers still cheat them by showing large crowd/guests in receptions. A photographer told me how many cples were fake and he successfully shown such pics that Visas without interviews. It is a hard fact that they do catch innocent applicants for interviews along with fakers. Can't blame system too much but ..
